He likely never will either. With regard the gay scene you should see the looks I get when I tell other guys that I'm not a fan of 'pride' marches at all. In fact I actively dislike them and find them embarrassing demeaning spectacles. If other gay guys are happy to flounce about wearing rainbow coloured thongs while simulating obscene acts in full view of children, assorted spectators and other members of the public, then they're perfectly welcome to do so as long as they leave me out of it. I'm perfectly happy with who I am and the way I am, strangely enough all without feeling the need to gyrate, twerk and hump the air while dressed in drag and screaming like a banshee in public, but hey that's just me.

There was an article on the news concerning gay people a while back, I forget what, but the background footage under the voice over was of a pride march. I remember wondering what a street festival full of flamboyant half dressed people had to do with the issues at hand.

It would have been more appropriate to have footage of same sex people holding hands or sitting together on their sofas. The presentation did nothing to present gay people in any other way than as half naked sexual beings that are defined only by that. Pride marches are, I suppose, still somewhat necessary, but I hope the fizzle out and become anachronistic; that way we'll know that they have served their purpose.

In the meantime, I think their focus needs to shift away from the overtly sexual and towards the pride in the progress made by society surrounding gay people's rights. One shouldn't be proud of their sexuality any more than they should of their ten fingers, it's just normal to be that way, though I get the pride felt in coming out, which I imagine must be very difficult in many circumstances.

Nintendo got a lot of my respect back for telling snowflakes to fuck off with their PC bullshit in their games. Someone had made a stage on Smash for Switch and named it "Trans Rights Now." and Nintendo banned the stage and the player stating they don't want political bullshit in their games.

If only more companies were like this with their games.
