General Game Comment Thread. What are YOU Playing Today?

Played Super Monaco GP for a while, but I couldn't really figure out what I was doing. I need to invest some more time into the controls.

I also played Ms. Pac-Man for about an hour and a half tonight at Nickel City. I really only go there to play that game ($2 to get in and it's one of the free play games), and I got a (low) high score of 115k+ that I was pretty happy with. I absolutely love that game. If I could have any arcade cabinet, that would be it.


Did you know that the maximum number of points you can get on the first screen of Ms. Pac-Man is 14600? The number is burned into my mind after playing that damn screen so many times.

I'm borrowing Mischief Makers and I'm loving it!

I'm playing some StarTropics and my NES that I just cleaned and refurfbished. Not to sound preachy or anything but if you smoke, go right ahead, but don't smoke around your game systems. This NES was just nasty when I got it, but it works great now that I cleaned it, disabled the lockout chip and put in a new 72-pin connector!

Shake shake! :) Took me a while to appreciate it. I find it's kinda like Dynamite Headdy in that sense -- where Headdy is about the secret bonus points, Troublemakers is about getting those S-ranks. I think I'm about three short of the full ending last I played the game.

I picked up Crackdown for $13 new from Newegg a bit over a week ago and haven't stopped yet. It's like GTA but actually fun. Love popping tires and watching cars flip and setting off chain explosions.

I was going around the first level throwing the little people around wondering why they wouldn't die. Then eventually I realized I'm supposed to talk to them and NOT hurt them.

It's called Hawaiian Rockets: 40% Hawaiian Punch, 20% Goldschlager, 40% Vanilla Rum. They make you bad at video games.

Man that is far too sweet to be an alcoholic beverage. I know some people like that but for me sugar + alcohol = paying tribute to the porcelain god for sure. Jager, Goldshlager, what have you, it all turns my stomach.

This is actually from yesterday, but it's too good not to mention: Shinobi III. Fuck yeah!

Got to the final level on my first attempt, but I didn't want to spoil the entire game that fast, so I turned it off again. :p

Showed a buddy Goldeneye since he's somehow NEVER played it yet is a huge collector. He loved it obviously.

Playing Rolling Thunder 2...

I played Romancing Saga 3 for awhile today. I have been playing the Business minigame a lot instead of going through quests, it is pretty addictive.

Started playing Mike Tyson's Punch-Out yet again. Managed to get all the way up to The Sandman without codes, and lost. Then I coded to Super Macho Man from my trusty Nintendo Power Player's Guide and lost to him, sending me back to Don Flamenco, who I then beat along with The Sandman (Ironically) and getting back up to Super Macho Man just to lose again. Then my brother kept telling me to put the Mike Tyson code in because he wanted to see what he looked like. So I went and did that, tried to fight him about 10 times and only got past the 1:30 mark once.

Then I went and played Gunstar Heroes, got all the way up to the final level to the "M. Bison" boss and had and asthma attack, which I then decided to turn the game off due to the sheer tediousness of the game.

Moved onto Doom 2 now, I find it hard to avoid using the cheats.

playing Resident evil 4... liking it better now

I just finished playing some Metal Gear Solid 4, and I'll be capturing some footage of Sol Feace on the Sega CD for a review that I will be making in the future.

Just got finished letting my niece play her copy of Castle of Illusion. She's too young to do anything in it really (she's not quite 3 yet), but she had a blast just making him walk and jump. It was worth the four bucks I paid for it.

Playin' some Skies of Arcadia, I started it a while ago and haven't beaten it yet, so I hope I'll get through it this year.

RPGs take me a long time.

WWE Legends of WrestleMania. I've been promising a site I go to that I'd do a review for it so i figure I need to get it done. If you want I'll post a link to it or something if you want. (doubtful lol)

Playing some Knuckles CHaotix on the 32x, I love the picture it produces on my HDTV, it looks so much better.

I'll probably play some technoclash later today as well.

Someone erased my PSP mem stick, nuking my precious save data, and DLC titles...coincidentally I just formatted and installed linux on my hard drive with the 'backup' info.

Once the beatings have stopped... :D

Morale will improve as I once again fully unlock Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles

I`m about to start playing Gauntlet IV, I have heard good things about it so fingers crossed!:D

I was playin Alien Soldier earlier before I ventured out to the bars. Now that my head aches I don't think firing up da old genny is a good idea?

I have to say that Gauntlet IV has let me down...

Brother, all I can say is that the 4th booty in from the left side of yer strike force logo has given me enough motivation to take on Alien Soldier drunk as hell!

I am [I]loving[I] that sig, johnnyb! I just got done playing SNES Doom. Don't look at me like that! It's the only version I currently have. I gotta get my hands on the PSX version.

You don't like it? I've played a little bit of it myself, but I've put it away until I have some serious time to devote to it. It seems like one of those games that might get more rewarding the deeper you get into it, and I think the graphics are fantastic.

lol... just doing my best!:D Any doom is good but yea definately get that PSX version.

And MrMatthews, I think I will give Shadow of the Beast another crack, I played it for 5 mins and couldn`t stop laughing, how those monsters just randomly run from nowhere and then fly off the screen when you hit them.... I was left thinking "are you kidding me?!":D

The only time I tried Shadow of the Beast was at a friend's house eons ago. Never got to far with the game. Played it a few times, died quickly a few times = The End. :(

I borrowed Aahhh! Real Monsters from a buddy just to review it.

R-Type Delta - PS1

Dementium: The ward for DS. It's a good enough game, fairly decent controls... but whenever you die, it erases your save file and forces you to restart the chapter. What BS. This is an idiotic gameplay design, especially when you save outside of a boss door. The only way to avoid this is to restart the game if you think you're about to die and reload the file.

You know how AVGN likes to use the "what were they thinking?" line? Well... these companies are STILL thinking it...

I played some Need For Speed Most Wanted 510 for PSP today, and I am going to play a good deal of Blitz: The League and some NHL 07.

Sooner or later I am going to start playing Jennifer Capriati Tennis again to get the swing of it again. It is actually not that bad of a game, really.
