The Jungle Book.
Mr. Bones. Fuck the goddamn ice level. This game is awesome but wth were they thinking.
Ecco the Dolphin for Sega CD and also Mr. Bones. Again I say: fuck the goddamn ice level.
Sol-Deace
Finally beat the goddamn ice level in Mr. Bones. Now I'm up to some skeleton dinosaur. I love how fucking ridiculous this game is; nothing in it makes a goddamn lick of sense.
Got up to the 15th level (or so) in Ecco the Dolphin. It's been a while since I've played a game that I've literally been unable to put down. The game is so atmospheric, the music is great, the puzzles are actually challenging, I could go on. The game is difficult, but it's so rewarding when you finally figure a stage out. I've been tempted to check an FAQ a couple of times but so far I've persevered on my own merit. Hoping I can keep it that way.
I seriously do not know why it's taken this long for a dyed-in-the-wool Sega fan to get down to brass tacks and actually play an Ecco title, but better late than never I suppose!
Should have some fun tonight with Phelios or Gleylancer.
GunForce 2
Just rebuilt my ancient AMD 1400 with some ram and a video card I pulled out of a trash can. It is by no means a rocket ship but well enough for me to play some GunForce 2 on my TV. Next time it will be some. Osman.
Well, not nessesserally playing it, but I've been hacking through Shining Force again.
Found some more important data in it (Specifically, the table that defines what items drop when a monster is killed).
Ecco the Dolphin is sooooo great, why the hell did I wait so long to play this game. It's magical. I just went back in time, I mean how awesome is that. A time traveling dolphin. I haven't made a "top favorite games of all time" list in a while but if I had one this would definitely be knocking something off. I can't get over how good this game is.
Just got these games today from ebay:
Castlevania Dracula X (SNES, damn expensive, lol)
Comix Zone (Genesis)
Can't wait to try these out, also just got a Sega Genesis Turbo controller to use, w00t!
God, the last level of Ecco the Dolphin is downright evil. At least, I hope it's the last level. I don't think I could actually cope with a tougher level than this. Man I love this game, but it's like it's trying to break me.
I've been playing lot of Sonic Advance games and Sonic Rush
Berzerk: Atari 2600. 1.5 hours to get a high score
Now playing "Skies of Arcadia" on my DC As them Britt's say it's absolutly Brill!!
Well. . . I got Final Fight CD in the mail today.
I also got an X'eye that decided it doesn't like reading discs.
I'll probably play a little Splatterhouse for TG16 in a bit.
Sat down to play through Phantasy Star 2.
What a horrible piece of shit title it is so far.
I've been re-playing Dragon's Trap recently on Master System, Loving it as always but I really should be doing more work on my website so I'm in a constant state of guilt LOL
I'm completely, utterly hooked on Burnout Paradise right now. I'm not normally a fan of 'open world' games, but Criterion/EA really made this work; freeburning around a city with eight other people is utter fun. It's OutRun's evil twin, but it's very much a perfect pick-up-and-play title.
Can't recommend it enough :)
Trouble Shooter
I'm playing Phantasy Star III right now....Its not as bad as I feared and I'm actually quite enjoying it. There is something that is just incredibly charming about this game....
Still working on Skies of Arcadia...
Game puts a smile on my face every time. :)
Well, it was for PS3 actually, LOL, but man, was this game simply impressive and a gift to Batman fans!
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Just beat Sonic 1. Having a Sonic Marathon. Going to play through the entire series.
I've been playing Ristar on MD, Bonk, Blazing Lazers, Ninja Spirit and Alien Crush on my newly aquired TG16 :)
Rail Simulator
I love Blazing lasers aka gunhed. I have a butt load of work today but I still had time for a quick game of frogger this morning.
Isn't that on TG-16?
Sagaia and Thunder Force IV today, mostly.
Truxton. Yup, it all goes back to Truxton. I still can't seem to be able to get passed level 5. :( Any suggestions?
Yup.
I watched the Classice Game Room HD review today on Raiden 4! I am going to have to buy that muther. I threw on Raiden cd on my PC Engine and that game still kicks ass. I went over to my mom's house today and made her play a game of Galaga (she hates video games). Its usually hilarious as she is typically really terrible at vids, but she surprisingly did pretty good for someone who has never played it and I think she actually had a little fun. She actually did better than I did the first time I tried to play it:) . I made her play the arcade perfect version I have on my dreamcast, then I put on the one I have for the turbo graphix and asked her to compare the two. She liked the turbo one of coarse.
When I got home I played zombie revenge on the hardest setting on gun mode, I used the gameshark and got the red blood cheat and the free play. I hadn't played that one in awhile, but I would say I actually enjoy that one a lot more than resident evil 5. The game is just so cheesy and yet awesome.
After that I had some buds over an had a few drinks to celebrate as I might be getting a much higher paying job. Might is the key word, I still have to ace the interview but I'm usually pretty good at those. All in all a pretty good day.
Drink lots of coffee right when you wake up in the morning, wait an hour and have at it. Its something weird Ive noticed, I'll try a game that usually takes me out, but I'll try it in the morning after my coffee, and I'll play way better than I did the evening before. That game is hard as nails due to the length. You can be in the zone and doing really well, but just one slip of your concentration and an enemy from behind or an asteroid gets you, and then you have to stick and move to get powered back up! Alertness and level memorization is all I can suggest for the stellar Truxton.
Gate of Thunder and Rayxanber 3 and 2. I am finally getting the hang of Rayxanber 3, and finally getting used to the horrible sound of your weapon firing. Fun shooter other than that, kind of a poor mans thunder force 3, but different enough to feel like a unique shooter. The firing sound of your ship sounds like when you hold a button down on you're PC's keyboard and it starts squeaking at you to stop.
I have been playing the hell out of Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story on my DSi. I love the frantic and interactive battles. Makes me realize how much I love the DS.
If you own a DS/DSi, buy this game. I can't recommend it enough.
Been on a Sonic 2 binge for the last few days. Finally beat the game with Sonic, then did a run though with Knuckles. Got all of the Emeralds, of course. Now I'm trying with Tails.
I love the fact that Sonic Jam saves your progress, it's seriously awesome.
I'm in gaming withdrawls right now. I've been at college for a month and all I have in my room is an LCD tv, so I didn't bother bringing my Genesis or SNES. It's gonna be a long year.
You should hear some of his quotes in BIS. They are just classic. He is actually the main villain this time around. Trust me on this, BIS is amazing. I haven't played the original in a really long time so, I can't remember how good they are in comparison. Plus, you get to play as Bowser a lot this time around. Which is surprisingly cool. They develop his character a lot. To me, he's an over sized, angry bro. Some of the things you have to do inside Bowser's body to help him are kind of tedious though. I won't spoil anything though.
TL;DR, I think I would go as far as to give this game a 5/5.
