As much as I hate fucking fractions when it comes to measurement, my mind still thinks in those measurements (miles, feet, inches)
There are a few things that must be said when it comes to metric vs. Imperial/Standard
Metric is outstanding when it comes to exact precision. Conversion is a breeze, and units of 10 is the most jawsumnly genius thing ever.
Inches/Feet/Miles/Acres...etc., total clusterfuck for conversion between some. And those fractions...I hate friggin fractions. (IMO) really great for measurement when you need a general idea of measurement or some degree of precision.

How bad is it that me and my friends now occasionally use 'orly' and 'yarly', pronounced as single words, in our conversations?
4392
So you have a normal conversation in Dutch, and every once in a while say "orly" & "yarly"?
4393
Well, yes, essentially. Our conversations tend to jump into English and back to Dutch again every now and then as well. We're the Internet generation after all.
4394
Wait, does it mean you say ORLY, or do you say "oh really"? There's nothing wrong with the latter.
However, I hate it when people say "lol" or "rofl" instead of actually laughing! When it's funny, and you can laugh, laugh, dammit!
Then again I once actually met a girl that said "That's really funny" when she thought something was funny (she was just like that one girl in Scrubs that way). I find such people confusing and highly irritating.
