In theory, there probably isn't too much of a difference between eating a grasshopper and eating a shrimp, but I just don't think I could get past that mental block

The deep fried tarantulas look the worst.
Also, 1482.
Or, to go in a different direction: 1483
That was hideous, by the way. Not just one or two tarantulas, but an entire basket. I wonder what that table smells like.

I wonder how a giant weta covered in chocolate would taste....
Hmmm . . . good question. I think a better question would be, "If I took a bite out of a cricket the size of an ear of corn, would I ever want to eat again?"

lol, now that`s true. The weta on it`s own freaks out most people but they are pretty harmless, unless you come across the angry males which isn`t often, they have tusks!!!

Makes me think of "Red Dwarf"... Anyone remember the episode "Legion" (Season 6, episode 2):
/edit: Oh, by the way, same episode, on of my favorite "Red-Dwarf"-quotes:Quote:
Rimmer: We're OK for food though, aren't we?
Kryten: Confidentially sir, no. We've no meat, no pulses and hardly any grain. Worse than that, the only Liquorice Allsorts left are those little black twisty ones that everybody hates. If that weren't bad enough, space weevils have eaten the last of the corn supply.
Rimmer: So what's in the grill?
Kryten: Space weevil.
[Kryten brings out the cooked weevil]
Rimmer: You can't serve space weevil, Kryten. I mean, not even Lister with his single remaining taste bud will knowingly sit down and eat insectoid vermin. Well, let's face it, with him it's practically cannibalism.
Kryten: But it's incredibly nutritious, sir. I mean, after all, it is corn fed.
Quote:
Rimmer: Need I remind you of Space Corps Directive 34124?
Kryten: 34124? "No crewmember with false teeth should attempt oral sex in zero-gravity"?
I wish I could pull a few Red Dwarf quotes off the top of my head. Rimmer has some fantastic lines.

MrMattew please keep numbering Im getting confused
1491.
1489 was intentionally left blank.

I think tanegashima claimed the next one, so nobody post!
1492

1493
O Rly?
1494
That's a shame
1495
This page has almost given me a stroke.

I H8 Daylight saving thing !!!
1496...
Damn missed 1492!!
My computer crashed yesterday and I had to relent and just get a new computer...arg! Thankfully, I had decided on a whim to backup all my important/cherished stuff to an external hard drive the evening before it completely crashed.
The warranty is expired, the cd motor is shot and the tray motor is also shot. The computer only boots to a blue screen now, with no arrow or anything. Almost reminds me of the C64...but unfunctioning :(
1497
I tried to save your place, but they just pushed me down and took it anyway.
Hmm, your computer sounds a bit like mine, only mine is brand-new and functioning normally. Just picked it up last weekend. Still pretty stoked about it.
1499
Why are you always one number less?
I'd hardly call it "always" but that time I just went off the number Tanegashima posted.
1500
Whoops! 1501, my error!

1502
Yeah, I threw you under the bus. But Aqua backed me into a corner.
I don't mind, I'm too mad at apple right now to care about anything. I'm leaving for Vegas then Denver tomorrow and I really don't want to compromise my music before I go on a week 1/2 long trip!
Damn iTunes...assholes!
1503
I call 1525!
I must have 1525...very interesting events in Italy that year...
1504
I have had nothing but trouble with iTunes 8.
1505
I don't use iTunes and I'm happy as can be.
Except that Vista went to shit and I think I have to reinstall it. At least now I can give it more than 30 gig for a "hard drive".
1501
No Wai!
1508
That is all.
1509
Do you like the number 1502 so much that you HAD to use it twice, MrMatthews? ;)
1510
Sorry, I don't know what you're talking about.
But if I HAD indeed used 1502 erroneously, it probably would have been because the count above me was incorrect. :)

Because this thread is so much fun, will we begin anew once this one is done? A Count To 100,000 or 1,000,000 sounds like fun. Anything more would be torturous.

Annoyed my package didn't get delivered yesterday.
Hmph!
1516..Curly FTW! Three stooges rock!
I guess I won't make it to 1525...I'm leaving for Vegas then Denver in about two hours...so you guys have fun without me. It'll be rough, but you guys will manage I'm sure.
BUT I'm still going to make a pre-post for 1525:
Hapsburg forces, both Holy Roman Imperial troops, Spanish imperial troops and their Italian allies crush French forces at the battle of Pavia in 1525, giving the Holy Roman Empire and Hapsburg forces a decisive edge over the Bourbons in the Italian wars. More interestingly, the Hapsburg forces defeat the French thanks to their overwhelming advantage in the use of firearms. Well drilled, well equipped Imperial (holy roman imperial) arquebusiers and Spanish pikeman shatter the French cavalry and win the day!
I love history...
