LOL, indeed. And it actually was not even one of the strongest episodes of that season.

Who can forget the episode where Homer is accused of sexual harrassment, or when he and Grandpa peddle their sexual tonic all over the state? And then of course Homer the Great, where Homer first joins and then is idolized by the Stone Cutters. Homer obsesses over Clown College (and ends up looking just like Krusty) and let's not forget the first part of Who Shot Montgomery Burns?
