Just watched Iron Man again. What a cool little film. I wonder if Jon Favreau can direct a movie he can't put himself into, though?
2243
It's ok for a director to have a part in his own movie...as long as it is a very small part.
Some examples of acceptable roles:
"Pizza delivery guy"
"Guy in resturant"
"Caller #4"
or
"Man in Cab"
Sam Raimi had half a dozen roles in "Army of Darkness" but they were really small, pointless roles.
2244
For Hitchcock it was one of his trademarks, though he hardly ever had a speaking role, just a cameo (often only on a picture of a prop newspaper or as a shadow on the wall).
M. Night Shyamalan's self-insertions however... those are way over the line! Seriously, his self-insertions keep getting bigger and bigger... what's next, his next movie being just all about him?
Oh, and the insertions of Stan Lee in all those Marvel movies? They range from okay (old guy drinking a soda in "The Incredible Hulk") to ridiculous (like... um... a nightwatchman along Lou Ferigno in the first Hulk).
2245
At least when Kevin Smith did it, he gave himself the non-speaking role.
And Stan Lee was awesome in "Mallrats", yeah he was playing himself...but it was fun.
2246
Xmas shopping is finished!
2247
I hope you mean that as in, indefinitely. Ex-mas shopping makes me want to eviscerate everybody.
2248
I will make sure I`m nowhere near you when you shop!:D
You aren't kidding. Stan Lee's cameos are getting more and more masturbatory, as well. To this day I still wince when I think of his gratuitous moment in Spiderman 3 where he says "I guess it's true what they say: One man can make a difference."
Tobey Maguire might as well have just pulled an Austin Powers and said, "Ladies and Gentlemen . . . Stan Lee!!!!"
2250
From what I heard about "Spiderman 3", Tobey saying that might have actually helped the movie.
2251
From what I've seen of "Spiderman 3", ANY change might have helped the movie. Couldn't have gotten more of a mess than it acutally was.
2252
Emo-Spiderman made everyone laugh. Hard.
2253
I didn't laugh. It made me really uncomfortable - that special kind of discomfort caused by those who lack the sense to be embarrassed by their own actions.
Tofer Grace made me laugh, though. He would have made a better Peter Parker/Spider Man than Tobey. So would the actor who played Harry, for that matter.
2254
The way I see it, Harry Osbourne was the actual hero of the movie! Spiderman just dicked around or screwed up, while Harry went through inner torment, developed some character, and actually displayed some heroics contrary to the titular hero! Honestly, he should have been the one who got the girl and saved the day! (In my eyes, he DID save the day, anyways)
2255
I find it damn hard to enjoy any movies developed from comics, the only one I actually like is Batman and I don`t mind X-men. One of the worst ever made is Daredevil... Ben Affleck needs a shovel to the head!
2256
Some choice movies that sucked
Hulk (yawn)
Ghost Rider
The Phantom (didn't exactly suck, but it was pretty pointless)
The Shadow
Daredevil (I second it, Johnny)
Batman & Robin
Iron Man (just kidding - I watched that again the other night and loved it all over again)
Superman Returns
Did I forget anyone?
over half way there wow 2257
2258
Um, you better get a new calculator!
:)
2259
You don't have to actually say that "Batman & Robin" sucks because that is a universally known truth.
I'm sure the last of those misguided few who actually liked the movie have since been burned at the stake.
2260
I actually threw it in at the last minute because I knew that if I didn't mention it someone would be like all "OMG! How can you forget Batman & Robin?! I judge you!"
I don't know if I could have handled that.
2261
I don't remember "Batman Forever" being that bad, I also don't remember it being all that great either.
But Nichole Kidman was her absolute hottest in that movie.
2263
She isn't as hot since she went blonde. The redhead thing she had going in "Forever" was very nice.
2264
What movie am I thinking of where she had really deep red hair? Was it that witch movie with Sandra Bullock?
2265
Practical magic is the one she was in with sandra bullock
2266
Daredevil:
Ben Affleck: Can I be assisted on a menial task?
Jennifer Garner: Are you blind?
Affleck: Duh!
Garner: Oh. Want to fight?
Affleck: K, but lets do it in a playground so there's the chance that we can trample a small child.
Garner: I like the way you think.
Michael Clark Duncan: Who cares if Kingpin was never a giant black dude?!
Affleck: I care! *kicks Kingpins ass*
Duncan: Um, okay.
Garner: Living is fun! *dies*
Affleck: I'll avenge her in the sequel.
*No sequel comes*
Evanescence: We are the only people to benefit from this movie!
2267
Ah, if only all movies were that honest...
2268
Bush is/was a terrible President, but that man sure can dodge a shoe.
2269
Well, considering his general popularity, I think he's constantly on the lookout for projectiles thrown at him, so it may have become a natural reflex to him.
A pretzel-sneak attack, however...
2270
When the shoe was thrown, all I could think of was:
I actually thought of this:
2273
It's a little disturbing that I find so many of your posts arousing.
2275
How about a little Family Guy quote for the occasion?
"Hey Quagmire, is that a banana in your pocket or a uhrection in your pocket?"
*deliberate use of misspelling & improper grammar
2277
That would be the tasty Anastacia! Those are my 4 favourite female singers, they are also very easy on the eye!:D
And yes those knee boots get a big seal of approval!
I also added a bit of xmas to my profile...

I just want you to know that the modern country music genre is typically full of hot young female singers.
When I did the Best Buy thing years ago, we'd put the CD's away and the country music section would have some hot new female singer/group come out like every 2-3 weeks.
The music sucks, but the covers were easy on the eyes. :D
2279
I'm not having any mouse attached to this computer... and it sucks browsing forums with keyboard only :/

A hilarious effort!
