It looks like the thong car, and the one behind the van, have the longer European license plates.
It could be Asia, but it isn't Japan, as people are driving on the right (correct) side of the road. But the white van looks like a European design, so I'm guessing Europe.
American, Canadian, and Mexican cars all use the smaller (12in-ish) plates and the bumpers are made to have a place that size for license plates.
