I actually just picked up one of the NES/SNES ones. It's a fraction of the size of the originals and accurate enough that I'm probably just going to store the others. It also has the added benefit of allowing me to use my wireless Playmessiah SNES controllers for NES games. Awesome.
If only they'd made the S-Video work with NES games, it would be perfect, IMO.
I meant with respective systems: NES with Yobo FC (NES only) and SNES with FC Twin (SNES controllers only). However, there is an adapter in the works for the Retro Duo to let you use NES controllers, specifically for games like Duck Hunt or Gyromite.Quote:

I've been interested in getting a NES, but all the old ones seem to be broken and the model two lacks A/V output. I might get this too. My only issue is the inflated NES game prices I see in places like eBay; why the hell are games like Mario 3 15+ dollars? That's likely one of the most mass produced games to ever exist - it's worth a few dollars at most. I guess I'm better off checking local stores or better internet retailers.
Also, not entirely related, but does anyone know where to get a good A/V switching device with S-video too? My older TV has one input and I can't stand switching stuff all the time(the s-video issue with this just makes it worse). Any suggestion of an affordable unit that doesn't require power would be nice.
Super Mario Bros 3 is a classic and considerd by many to be the best Mario game ever, kinda how everyone feels about Sonic 3 and Knuckles. So of course the price is gonna be high. Besides, I don't think 15 bucks is that bad, considering brand new games are 50.
I know what you mean and I'd still buy it(I foolishly "lent" it to someone), but it's still over priced considering how old it is and how many units of it were made. Sonic 3 and Knuckles is only more exptensive since it's two carts.
Prices on Nes and Snes have gotten out of hand. I still find Smb2,3, world, Zelda 1-3 at thrift stores all the time. I have about 3 of each at this point and according to ebay and used games stores I must have a small fortune on my hands. What gets me is the Local stores here have these games overpriced and they sit on their shelves for months and no buys them. I really don't know where they get off asking that much. Even more aggravating is that they put sticker price tags on the boxed games thus ruining the box and still want some ungodly amount.
Oh I HATE that when they put stickers on the labels on cartrige games. I mean, how freakin' huge is an NES cart? Why do they have to put a sticker ON THE ONE PLACE WHERE THE STICKER COULD DAMAGE IT!
Sorry for the all caps lock thing, but that just REALLY ticks me off when they do that...
They do that too but they also put stickers on the original cardboard boxes. It drives me nuts. One day I will get the nerve up to ask them why. What really makes laugh are the high prices. They had a copy of Alundra 2 for like $40. Alundra 2 sucks ass. They also had Shinning Tears for the same price. Sure it looks nice but it is by no means rare or all that good, the load time made want to drink. The kicker is I have walked out with games like Cannon Spike for $10. Fools
