meh easy come easy go. I have seen better. The entire collection is not worth this or any such amount at the present moment.
That's $12.50 per game.
Wrong. This is madness:

That auction is just kooky. :p
That's a lot of game.
pheeww thats steep, but if I were rich I'd take that deal in a heartbeat.
If it sells, it'll be through the Best Offer and not the BIN.
I hope.
Sorry, but that price is outrageous. The shipping alone is gonna kill'ya!
Some people are idiots thinking they have a gold mine when its nothing more than copper.

But I understand some out there paid full price for that, poor bastards.
Here is how you will get it:
"Dear dkazz1,
My son is dying sick. His biggest wish is not to get well, instead he wants to play all Sega Genesis games before he dies. Please let me buy it for a buck or so and help my poor son. God bless you!
Best wishes,
/You"
Ya thats a terrible price, besides it's kind of too easy, if you get me, just having 706 games lumped into your lap, personally that would be a fast track to boredom, whilst playing all those games would be great........ the joy of foraging and collecting would be dead in the water. Plus there is no way you'd give each game the attention they deserve, it is only through getting games in 1, 2s, 3s and maybe 4s that one can actually give the games the attention they deserve, I say a POX on anyone who acquires this collection, it is a poision chalice....
Also we can only hope who acquires this collection floods the market with some of the rarities!!!
Wonder how much the listing fee for that was
No no...buying Dark Castle for $12.50 is!Quote:

True, but I'm personally tired of seeing a game online that I want to play on my genny, then searching 5 or 6 months to find it (at a price thats reasonable), and usually in the U.S. finding the game means finding a cart-only game in ass condition. Sure it makes it that much sweeter if you find that one game you've been searching the world over for, but can you really blame anyone that would prefer to kill 700 birds with one stone?Quote:

12.50 for Shaq-Fu???
The way the dollar keeps falling that will be $5 in a few years. jk. Seriously though my wife bank account in Sweden has less money then it ever did and when you convert it into dollars is about the same as it was 3 years ago. If I was stupid rich I would by that though it wouldn't be the same as finding that copy of Toejam and Earl hidden away in some thrift store.
This stuff is material and will gain in value. Like if I brought a $5000 and the money was worth half of what I paid the car is now worth $10000 stil retaining that $5000 value. Meaning buying junk is worth it more then having the money itself. Meaning that while people was saving in the past, Spending more is way more efficent.
It is kinda funny that I crack 1 million and now it is only worth 50,000.:daze: but at the same time I spent 1 million and some how my spending rejuvinated the market. This leads to one other option. Somebody in Europe and Asia along with Africa is not spending enough money in America and or is hoarding munny constantly
Meaning it is a constant loop of ups and downs.
I completely empathise and agree with you on one level but then on another I think its for the best that I wouldn't obtain this lot. I just don't know would every game get the attention it deserves if it was fighting with another 705, I'm sure eventually one would get around to playing them all......Quote:

This is just the way I look at it, collecting the games is a hobby to me, some people own tonnes of systems and are constantly filling their boots and this is a perfect faciliation of that. For me I'll continue to root around in the bins of thrift stores and root through ebay :)
Think of it like when Marte brought a Sports Almanac in the Pawn shop. You saw all that stuff in the background. That is why videogames is a investment. Not to you but to your children.
I don't think video games are a sound investment, 99% don't retain their original value as the years pass.
Exactly, most retro games are of little value at all, theres millions of copies of the likes of Sonic and Fifa out there. Its the games that are desireable and valuable now that will still be valuable in the future, but not common games.
Yea, Id have to say that at least 95% of the video games coming out today won't retain near their retail value in a few years (Especially since a good chunk of them are sports titles, which aren't worth anything when the next year comes).
I think the best way to collect video games that actually gain value would be to find those good, under the radar type game that'll come out and get no attention because they aren't Call of Duty 4 or Halo 3. Reserve them before they come out and get it with all the free promo stuff. They'll get a small print run, fall into obscurity quickly, but'll be seen as a great gem a few years down the road. We all see how much more valuable games like Panorama Cotton are with that stupid teacup so why not go that route if your looking for long term value out of your games?
Yeah, but many games are obscure for a reason, and never become famous. you have to be lucky to find the gems.
Yep theres plenty of really rare games that still aren't worth much because poeple just don't know about them. The only way to make any 'investment' in games is to buy games that are rare now at a price a good amount below what they usually fetch. Say you get Streets of Rage 3 for £20, you can sell it for around £50 now, it might be worth even more in the future, but even if it doesn't increase in value you should still be able to sell at a profit any time.
Problem with that is it takes a lot of searching and time to get bargains on rare/desireable games, you'd be better off getting a part time job and sticking the money in the bank instead.
