My buddy i've known for 10 years has had this virtual boy laying around since the dark ages, and the other day I asked him if he'd be interested in selling it, and hes like "sure". So I asked how much, and he's like "well I don't really think it's worth that much... hows 30 bucks sound?" 30 bucks for a virtual boy and 5 games?! You got yourself a fuckin' deal! I know not many people like the system, and all the games are as gimmicky as the Wii, but at least its a cool gimmick.
Its such a cool looking system, totally annoying to play, but it looks great as an object of curiosity. What games did you get?

I've wondered why Sega didn't release 3D glasses for the Genesis as a response to the Virtual Boy. It shouldn't have taken much to adopt the SMS 3D glasses to the Genesis and it would have been far more practicable.
I traded my Game Gear with games and battery pack for a VB back in the day. I think I had the VB for a few months and then it was gone. I liked Tennis and Red Alarm but thats about it.
Well the Saturn was already out when Virtual Boy launched! Given the option of buying a blood red visioned unportable portable, or saving up a while longer for a Saturn of Playstation, its hardly surprising which way gamers went.Quote:

I'm pretty sure Red Alarm is a bit hard to grab these days (Compared to other Virtual Boy games that is).
I found mine with Tennis laying under a table at a church rummage sale years ago for 6 bucks. No stand or eye piece. We had to use books and towels to play the thing, but it was fun. Key word "was".
Now it suddenly doesn't turn on, even with new batteries. I was saddened.
Sweet fucking bargain my friend! Warioland kicks fucking ass. I love getting rip roaring stoned and playing virtua boy. Mine is getting messed up though. It has some graphical distortions happening randomly. I am going to take it apart and see whats up with it. I suspect the mirrors inside somehow got un alighned or something. Hopefully an easy fix as I have been craving virtua boy lately. Still my favorite nintendo system after the NES.
