Official Sega-16 Haul Thread. 4.0

Saw this in a shop window and decided to buy it:

A Ocean Blue/Green N64 with one controller, 2 rumble Paks, Lylat Wars (cart only, picture was brightened up in GIMP because I was too lazy to re-take it again, so forgive me if it's hard to see the logo), Doneky Kong 64 (minus Expansion Pak which I'm slightly gutted about) and GoldenEye with 2 manuals (?), all the inserts and...no fucking GoldenEye cart. I'm guessing who ever owned the machine before hand, used the box for Lylat. Again, gutted. But I could just buy a loose cart of GoldenEye on it's own and throw it in there, so it's no biggie.

All this for £54, which is an alright price in my book. I'm looking forward to building a collection for it now. :)

Nope. ;)

Took the pic in haste and didn't realize I had the brightness settings so low. Couldn't be bothered to do another picture, so I just rammed up the brightness in GIMP. Yeah, it looks ugly as sin, but does the job.

Nothing game related but found this pretty cool head-attachment light thingy for only $2

If there's one thing I'll end up being known for here it's crappy photos. Oh well.

Saw this on Kijiji yesterday and emailed about it. Ended up driving to the middle of nowhere to pick it up today. Boxed model 2, 2 controllers, and the games you see in the image.

He wanted 45$ but I got it for 30$. With the exception of the box the console is in amazing shape. There's not a scratch on iy which is really nice.

Maybe I'll do a few mods to it or something.

So I've got a great story for you all!

Went up to Denver last night to see the Puella Magi Madoka Magica movie, and after dinner my wife and I had some time to look around some of the shops before the movies. We were in this one independent record store looking around when I saw they had video games. Nothing too badly priced, but nothing that looked great either. I was looking at the Genesis stuff and saw one thing and pulled it out for a closer look and it blew my mind!

A cardboard boxed copy of Sonic 2! I've only heard of a handful of these existing and never expected to pick up the variant just because of the rarity! But there it was! Oh, need to check the price first though...

That's right, only $3.99 so I grabbed it and took it to the counter for checkout. It was missing the manual but I don't really mind. Then I settled in for my 2, 2-hour movies quite pleased with my new purchase. I had time to open it up tonight, and had an extra Sonic 2 booklet so I threw it in the picture.

I had to put the "watermark" in though cause I remember the one cardboard box picture with a million watermarks! :D

The cartridge is actually really weird though, it looks like someone took a Sega Seal of Quality sticker, then probably stuck it over the NFR printing that was on the original label. You can easily tell that it is a sticker over the label, kind of weird that someone cared enough to put that on the cart. So, this makes me think that the cardboard box copies were left over pack ins that someone stuck a sticker on to make them 'legit' to sell to the public. I'm pretty sure this is the original cartridge that goes with the box, and I don't think I've seen a copy of Sonic 2 with a sticker like this before, so something new, yay!

One last shot, a picture of my receipt for a whopping $4.29 because I don't mind gloating over this random find in the middle of downtown Denver. ;)

wow! awesome find! I didn't even know a cardboard box version existed!

Found these at a thrift store each marked for $2, but my wife got them to drop it to $1 each since I was buying their entire genesis inventory.

This one feels a little different than the Playstation version. The physics and controls feel a little smoother in the Super Famicom version, but there is some slowdown in parts of the game. You can't go wrong buying either version though.

Mash together a Kurosawa Samurai movie with a Godzilla/Gamera movie and you have Daimajin. All three movies are pretty cool and it's cheap too($10).

Nice on the Cardboard Sonic 2

No pictures but I decided to pick up a Wii today. It's the roughest looking console I've ever seen but it was cheap and works well.

I only bought it to play one game, Sonic Colours, which I ordered tonight as well.

I have a huge Saturn haul on the way. :)

And I'm getting a failed console in return.

What sucks is my copy of X-Men COTA still hasn't arrived at my home yet despite it's shipping on Dec 13. Given that everything else I've ordered from PlayImport arrived in around 3 weeks, I'm pretty sure it got lost. I hope they either refund me or ship me another copy. It has until Jan 29.
