Empire Interactive's Oxford studio. It's apparently emulation based on MAME. One of the people on TL1's credits is actually Nicola Salmoria, the guy behind MAME. And the PC versions use the same names as the roms on MAME. Interestingly enough the version of Tokio emulated on the first Legends is the bootleg, since it's the only one that works.
Here's some shit I bought today.

Final Fantasy VII ($7.77)-- Here's what I thought when I found this: "Hey, I can resell this and buy some games I really want!"
And that's what I'm going to do.
Mortal Kombat: Deception ($5.00)-- I'm kinda/sorta collecting GameCube games now, so I've started picking up the cheap games I see, as long as they aren't kids games, girl games, licensed games, or sports games (except NCAA Basketball)
Sonic Spinball ($3.00)-- The case is fucked, but the cartridge and manual are in pristine condition, and it even includes all the "Hurray for Sega!" shit.
Twisted Metal III ($4.00)-- I have almost all of the TM games now, and I haven't played a single one.
Spyro the Dragon ($4.00)-- Sorry, I have no anecdotes.
Kileak ($4.00)-- The back of the box proudly boasts of this game's "IMMERSIVE FIRST-PERSON PERSPECTIVE." I can only assume that means it's a clumsy piece of shit. But who cares? It's in a long box!!
MakoPad 64 ($3.00)-- I was quite excited to find this and could barely wait to get home to play Mario 64. Of course, if I'd known what an uncomfortable, awkward piece of shit this controller was, I probably wouldn't have run as many red lights.
There a thrift store I go to, I'm going to stop now
Every Game item comes in they check on ebay - I mean every item
Taito did the Japan PS2 collections, Destineer handled with Taito the western ports for PS2. Empire did the PC versions in the US and Euorpe along with the European X-Box version.
The similarities with Taito Legends 2 PS2 and the Memories packs is, the front end for the games, and the emulation used, along with the opening demo. The PC/X-Box versions I believe had to use MAME as I've heard Taito refused to give Empire the source codes for the games. You'd also notice the game frontend, the opening demo are different, plus Metal Black seems better on that than the PS2 version released in the US.
Problem is, all 4 Taito Memories packs have shot up in value and you'd almost have to pay through the nose for them now. Perhaps the Eternal Hits versions are cheaper, and the ones I possess for all 4. With Memories around, both of my Taito Legends lie around collecting dust. And the Japan collections fix the Rainbow Island and RI Extra soundtrack neutering that most western releases had happen to them like the Saturn and PS1 revisions had, they redid the Over the Rainbow theme and it sounds far better. Plus the Japan collections also have Bubble Symphony and Bubble Memories on the final 2 packs, awesome for a Bubble Bobble fan like myself.
Shameless YT video upload plug ahead.

Also another thing broken on TL2 PS2, Eleveator Action Returns has a broken machine gun that doesn't fire properly, wrong scores for enemies killed when the lights are out, and Puzzle Bobble 2 is Bust A Move Again (without the Bub and Bob characters) and has a major musical issue, Taito tried to shoehorn PB 2 music into BAMA again when both games use a different song set, this in turn causes the music in BAMA to be broken beyond beliefe and songs will abruptly stop without reason. Plus the back of the box lies, TL2 does NOT contain Puzzle Bobble 2, but it's US counterpart Bust A Move Again (as I mentioned previously here).
I have the European version of TL2 for PS2 (TRUE STORY: I actually got it one or two months before the US release) and the Metal Black and Elevator Action Returns issues are present. Thankfully the Euro version has Puzzle Bobble 2 and not BAM Again. I think the PS2 version also uses a version of MAME, I'm not sure, since it was done by the same folks.
As for Empire's Oxford studio the XBLA port of Double Dragon also had the involvement of Salmoria.
I took a trip to the mall today and picked up
Fighting Vipers CIB $4.99
F1 Challenge loose $1.99
Earthworm Jim 2 Saturn loose $19.99
Yeah, that seemed a bit much for a loose EWJ2 but I don't really care if it's CIB if it's a NA release. The less longboxes I have taking up space, the better.
Skyfall is great.Quote:

EJW 2 is kinda uncommon, I think that's the going price loose or complete though. Last Bronx is HARD... the PC version I had years ago was darn easy though.

I finally got one! I've had it for a few weeks, but it needed a recap, so I didn't really care about posting it until I got it back, and made sure that it worked.
$165 + $75 shipping from Japan. Oh well, at least it was Christmas gift cash.
BTW: www.game-tech.us did my recap, and did fast, excellent work, so he gets a free plug from me.
I was at Game Trader yesterday (a very reasonably-priced retail store in my area), and the effeminate kid behind the counter who I'd never really given much of a thought before apparently recognized me and told me he had just received some new SNES games, and did I want to check them out before anyone else?
Yes, I did.
Pretty good games, too. Super Mario Kart, Legend of Zelda, and even a Mario RPG (priced accordingly, of course)
In the end I picked out a very nice-looking Out of This World for $3.99 and a jacked-up copy of Mario is Missing for $9.99. Since the label on MiM was damaged, he gave me a 20% discount on both games.
