I keep hoping one will show up at the thrift store. big dreams huh.
Hey, you never know. I've gotten high end VCRs (like worth $200+ still) and other outdated but still valuable electronics at thrifts, you just need to hit them really frequently.
I actually found an amazing NEC professional monitor at thrift near me one time about a year ago, but my wife was with me at the store and just gave me such an "oh hell no" look I didn't give it a second though. That NEC one was insane though, probably at least 30" and must have weighed damn near 300 pounds, I'm glad I didn't grab that one because it would STILL be sitting in my garage because I probably couldn't sneak it in the house by myself. :P
a psp 3000 and 9 psp games on psn
( and specifically a 3000 because the screens of the other psp models give me motion sickness )
I normally look for S-Video, but you have to be careful when looking for a unit with component. In general I've avoided ones that are VHS/DVD with component, because normally only the DVD side will output via component, and you'll need to use cable or composite to get anything out of the VCR side.
I'm sure there are some out there that actually output component on the VHS side as well, it's just that when I'm in a thrift with other people breathing down my neck and ready to grab anything up I set down, I don't have a lot of time to research or test stuff out.
Woohoo more Nintendo 64 games to add:

I remember reading about that advertisement. They were so full of themselves.
I do my best to love and appreciate every N64 game, even Superman, but Daikatana is really really terrible and much more deserving of the "worst N64 game" title.
^^
when I first played it I couldn't understand who these other characters were supposed to be in the cut scenes. lol
Later on I found out that the N64 version removed those from the actual game-play but kept them in all of the cut scenes.
Yeah this game was absolute crap.
I recall (this is going back a few years now since I played it) there was a level where this guy was supposed to give you a key/card? to proceed further in the game. Problem was when I first encountered him I thought he was an enemy type char so I shot him! The mofo just wouldn't respawn to give me access to the next area. So I was stuck. lol
I gave up after that.
I won this for only $7. I only need the two issues before it to have the complete set.

I also got 100 acid-free bags and 100 boards to store my classic gaming magazines.
Found a few neat things yesterday.
Everyone but the Lion king, which I got at my goodwill for $4. Was picked at some yard sales. Also I got my Secret of Evremore cart from eBay for only $16, which was great because I already had the box with everything but the game.

Nice- I'm still about seven issues away from having all of Sega Visions (that issue, included).Quote:
