Been on a bit of a controller binge again of late:
From Australia: RF TopGun for the PS2 / PC / MAME (possibly the last one in the world), really good gun and hard to find.
From the 'Bay: Fountech Airstyle PS2 controller, Fanatech PS2 controller (new): Both are brilliant.
Picked up a handful of Atari 8 bit carts. Phone won't connect to the computer, so here's the list.

JFLY do you ever rip your soundtracks? It seems like you have an awesome and eclectic collection of neat JP CDs.
I'm slowly backing up my entire CD collection to FLAC. I have a 500 gig external hard disk drive connected to my av receiver via USB so I don't wear out the drive on my Blu-ray player playing CDs. Arkanoid Doh it Again is relatively affordable still isn't it? I need to pick that up someday.

Just be sure to replace that hard drive every few years and I'd recommend staying away from Seagate.
I've heard alot of people echoe the same sentiments regarding SEAGATE. A few years ago Western Digital was the preferred choice but even their reputation have been sullied somewhat with the release of newer and newer hard drives.Quote:

Yes the game works great but holy shit is it hard and I mean HARD. The seller was nice enough to include a box protector and baggie for the manual.
The manual and insert cover art both look terrific. The game's label though has a bit of scuffs on them though.
IF ANYONE HERE HAS A DEFECTIVE COPY OF THIS GAME WITH A NICE FRONT LABEL, PLEASE PM IF YOU DON'T MIND SWAPPING OUR FRONT LABELS WITH EACH OTHER. Of course I'll also include funds for shipping and the purchase of the label itself. Thank you!
I'm kind of in the same boat and would love to know some recommendations as well. Many of my HDDs are getting a bit long in the tooth and several are still IDE actually (I know, the horror!). A solid 2TB drive would probably set me up for awhile, but I should probably move to a RAID configuration as well considering a lot of files I have are photos as well.Quote:

It is in phenomenal shape as is normally the case when I pick up games directly from a GS location. Like I've said before I don't mind paying tax as long the game is in great shape. Though I will note that when I went in to grab it, the first copy he gave me had a small tick on the corner, but he let me swap for the other one since I go by there rather frequently and renew my Rewards card through that location.
I thought all HDDs have a life span of about 5 years at best. Not sure that a brand matters, just that you keep swapping them out?
I have two 15 year old Samsung IDE HDDs (80GB and 120GB) and both are still working fine.

Well this showed up in my mailbox the other day pretty much exactly 13 months from the date I ordered it.
Quick Review:
Build quality is super solid and I commend them for delivering such a good package in the end. The cartridge shell is brand new and custom imprinted with Super Fighter Team badging, manual was crisp, and the tray looked pretty good. Two edges on the tray had been pushed in from what I'm assuming was the cart moving around during shipping, but I was able to pull them back out easily enough.
I played the game for quite a bit last night and it looks very good graphically, overall gameplay is a bit weak in my opinion. The game has some very cheap enemies and scenarios that can get frustrating fast. One part has you falling down a pit with stuff coming from all over the place with not very much time to react, and seems to encourage needing to memorize exactly where you need to be on every bit of the screen. (Think of the falling levels in Mega Man 2 with the instant-kill lasers).
I was playing on easy mode and had fun, but there were times where it seems like you would just get stuck in a loop of continual deaths. The power ups were also a cool addition to how the game played, but I would not play this one without a controller that has a turbo option.
