Those import Saturn titles, mmm mmm good stuff. The Street Fighter Alpha is nice too.
I had the same fuck money moment for Lunar 2, after my Play N Trade discount, it ran me $54.

Went to an electronics flea market this morning. Not a lot of gaming stuff there, but I managed to snag a Commodore 1571 complete. The box is a bit beat up but the actual unit is in pretty nice condition.

Does the 1571 load things faster at all? Or is effectively the same as a 1541 but just slimmer and also awesome looking?
It only loads faster if you have a C128. Connected to a standard C64, it's the same. I don't have a C128 but I'd like one someday. The 1571 is more reliable than the 1541 though. And it can read/write both sides of a disk.
The other part of my crazy ebay purchase:

I was really surprised this one arrived in a laser disc sized box. It brings me back to the late 1980s when I started buying laser discs.

Nice!
Also impressed with how clean your pics are, and so almost perfectly centered. :p http://i56.tinypic.com/10qlwdl.jpg
So I bought this back in February but it only now reached me. Yeah, our customs and Postal service is currently a mess.

It gives the console a larger footprint, so to speak. But the whole thing still looks neat enough.
http://i58.tinypic.com/33ok3rc.jpg
And the best thing is that I can't get it to work.
The console recognizes the Video CD add-on but so far it won't play the bunch of VCD's I've thrown at it.
That VCD adaptor seems to be "PAL region" and my console is from the US.
Not sure if the problem is a region issue or not.
I've posted in a couple other forums, so maybe someone will get back to me with a solution (hopefully).
And, oh yeah,
the seller also threw in a loose TG16 game,

Ahoy peeps, I've been documenting most of my hauls on Retro Collect, but thought it was time I came back to the Sega-16 fold.
So..
Went to the local carboot yesterday and found some Gems, I'm lucky that the 3 re-sellers at my local Car-boot all keep very fair prices and after several years building a rapport with them, they tend to do me some nice deals.
£10 for these two beauties! CIB

£5 for this gem, wanted this for ages!

£4 for Outrun Europa CIB, amazing looking game considering it's on the Master System.

2 essential Saturn Games, been after Manx TT for a while so super chuffed to find that.

And some nice PS1/PS2 bits. Think these were all £1 Each

Whilst walking to the bakery I stumbled on a little flea market. Thirty euro well spent!
Recently picked up a few Famiclones.

And this,
http://i60.tinypic.com/majs6r.jpg
It's a modified S-Video cable for the PAL version of the N64.
Using the regular N64 S-Video on a PAL system you'd get an awful saturated image,
So rather than having to put up with this on your PAL N64 console,
http://i61.tinypic.com/wbw30h.jpg
You can get much better results with that rewired cable,

LOL! The way that blue Playstation Famicom clone looks is just too funny. How's the sound quality of those three Famicom clones, by the way?
Lastest haul:
Used Arcade Gears Image Fight & X-Multiply

Covers a bit sun faded but the disc is pristine!
Student Bodies/Jekyll & Hyde Together Again Double Feature, Cooley High, Escape from Nueva York Collectors Edition, and Breakin'/Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo Double Feature

Used Gokujou Parodius OST
http://i534.photobucket.com/albums/e...pscjzvvijg.jpg
Picked this up and the Parodius Da! OST (in transit) because I doubt that it will ever get a re-release, with the licensed music used for each stage and all. Man, this a such a great arcade soundtrack!
You need to post a pic of your game soundtrack collection. It must be huge.
I'm pretty sure that If the VCD adaptor is PAL it won't work on your NTSC system, but I could be wrong.
I have a similar setup but my card is NTSC. Also, contrary to popular belief, I took the guts out of the card shell and connected it to a 3DO FZ-1, it works just fine with it too.
At times when trying to play some pressed VCD's, The discs give me errors saying that the player bios needs to be revision 2.0 or something a long the lines.

The one with the "Entertainment System" lettering is the closest to being decent.
The other two (especially that blue one) the sound is definitely off and a bit muffled as well.
Confirming mine is PAL.
http://i61.tinypic.com/2w56rn8.jpg
And yeah it seems you're not wrong.
I tracked down a local collector and he was kind enough to let me test that Adaptor out on his PAL 3DO. It worked. No issues at all
I didn't realize you could hook it up to an FZ-1. Thanks for that. :)Quote:

Thing is, as with my FZ-10, my FZ-1 is from the US as well. But anyway, I'll still try that adaptor out on it and see what happens.
A more pressing problem at the minute though is that I've somehow managed to partially tear one of the ribbon cables connected to the CD drive of my FZ-10.
A perfectly working drive and I've gone and buggered it up. Disc now won't spin.
What I was trying to do was swap the whole CD Drive mechanism over to a FZ-10 Japanese unit (I found at a local estate sale) that was missing it's CD Drive.
I swapped it over just fine but when I started it up that ribbon cable must have somehow been caught on something and that caused the tear.
So yeah, I done fucked that one up pretty good.
