Descent Value?
It is not worth that much, I still find sealed version of the PSX version for less then $15Quote:

That has to be a fluke or something. I remember when you couldn't give this game away.
It was one of those games they tried to shove down everyones throats but no one bought it.
I remember when PC Gamer gave away a CD full of free full versions of games, this was one of them.
I thought Descent was popular...maybe just in the UK?
I think it came with my soundcard... but I never played it because it came with Thief as well.
the game was good but it came out just after Doom. Remember Doom you didn't really see in stores. You could buy the "Shareware" version anywhere for $5 that was the entire first episode and several guns minus the last few. You would then order the rest directly from ID software. I don't remember ever actually seeing the game in full at the time on store shelves. Doom II yes but not Doom. Descent was released a few years after Doom but it had the cheap "Shareware" version that everyone got first. This cheap version was good for like 8-10 levels IIRC. After that most people wouldn't want to buy it! Usually 1 full episode is almost like a whole game anyway so only the truly hardcore fans would have bought the full boxed version afterwards!
But yeah Descent was popular I remember everyone when I was in Grade school playing it. All my friends had it but they all just had the same Shareware disks with 1 episode! I remember one of them always got sick from playing it!
The only version of "Doom" I remember seeing in stores is "The Ultimate Doom" which contains that extra episode.
Descent might have been that "360 3D" but Duke3D was more fun.
To be fair that's a "Buy it Now" price. It doesn't mean anybody is going to buy the damn thing - sometimes you find these insane sellers who seem to think putting $2000 on an Ultr@ r@re copy of FIFA '96 is a good idea.
So you struck out trying to sell your copy of FIFA '96?
A few years ago, when KB Toys closed every non-outlet store in town, I checked one out and they had several brand new copies of the PlayStation version of Descent for around $10 each. That was the last time I ever saw brand new longbox PSX games anywhere. Made me wonder if they had been sitting in a box in the back room for a while.
