The VCS looks fabulous, while of course it stands compared to every other console with its 70's TV matching wood grain effect panel, thats what makes it so special now. It looks like it comes from the era it does, just like the original Master System looks really 80's. Much better than some bland box.
That doesnīt help it much; yeah, the VCS looks very typical for the 70īs, as does the SMS 1 for the 80īs....but I believe the typical looks of that time were pretty aweful.
Just because I was born in the 80īs does not mean I have to appreciate an 80īs haircut and clothing either... or walk around like the dudes from Miami Vice.
70īs and 80īs typical style was just a bad style for me.
The Genesis would look great with some wood grain. The entire thing should be wood grain. Everything should be wood grain.
Joe Redifer you're my hero.
The 2600 wood grain looks good if it's meticulously maintained like mick_aka's picture up there. Looks like a freakin' appliance. Throw in mildew and crap, though, and you quickly get a nominee for Fugliest Console Ever.
I love see-through systems. My favorite Game Boy Pocket/Color back in the day was the clear one, and my NGPC is clear. I wish they'd make a clear DS.Quote:

it doesn't bother me... it allows me to almost see inside the system without opening it up afterwards. And allows some nice LED mods
I gotta admit, the saturn was a pretty ugly system. Also woodgrain only works on the 2600. Anything else would be a travesty
I would love to see a Geneses wood grain mod!
The Japanese Sega Saturn looked a lot better.Quote:

Yes, it was renamed 2600 after the wood grain versionīs days.
Why does everyone hate on the Jaguar? It doesn't look like a toilet seat, it looks like a futuristic hot rod engine.
