Great looking came consoles, in no particular order:
-Sega Genesis (model 1 only)
-Sega Genesis combined with Sega CD (model 1s only)
-Sega Master System (US... model 1 only)
-Neo Geo AES
-PC Engine
-Super Famicom

Mega Drive (model 1 with model 1 Mega CD and sms converter attached).
XBOX 360 - "A console built for the iPod generation!.
The saturn ain't too bad either.

Oh yeah forgot about SMS 1, you're right there, damn fine. The model 1 mega drive is much better than the model 2 too.

I always thought the Dreamcast looked very sleek for its time. Same with the Genesis 2 and SCD2.

And yeah, I forgot about the CDX... nice looking li'l thing. I think the TurboGrafx by itself looks kind of cool as well... like a grown-up PC Engine.
I don't have one. It's just a dream for now...

the 2nd one looks like a modem to me :) I think 3rd would be original PS1... its just a grey box, nothing else... PSone looks pretty nice, and EU/JP SNES are pretty OK too

The Sega CDX is pure unadulterated sexy. The Dreamcast is elegant in its simplicity and substance, no distractions, just raw gaming power.
For me its a tie between Sega Genesis 1 with Sega CD and the 3D0(FZ1)
as for a ugly system Xbox gets my vote what a turd in a bucket
My favourite's the Dreamcast. It's as though it was designed to look nice on purpose, rather than a squat black matte-plastic box. Although I never really saw the MD1 as a turntable - funny, that.
Not a big fan of the SMS1. It's off-centre, and has that weird industrial-orange/dried blood circuit board display.
They've already been said, but Sega CDX, Dreamcast, and Wii.
My nominations for ugliest systems are the Jaguar CD and the Sega Master System Mini for Girls.

TG-16 has a certain cool look
CDX is butt ugly
Saturn looks cool

This might get me the "DUH!" award, but I look at the ages of those who side with the first model Genesis/Mega Drive and of those who side with the latter iteration, and it seems that the preference depends on which model you grew up with. While I have come to appreciate the initial model more over time, I cannot help but cast my support for the second version, based solely on the fact that I have a feeling of nostalgia due to its importance in my childhood.

I don't know how anyone can think the Genesis 1 + SegaCD can be sexy. The Genesis 1 alone looks pretty good, but with the SegaCD attached, it's a monstrosity. Add the 32x to the mix, and you have a monstrosity with a tumor.
