I was about to ask that too!
It would be awesome if you guys had caught it on tape - with enough material for a full video report/documentary!

The whisperings I have heard is that there will be overly-excited commentary, however, the DVD is not likely to be finished for a month or two. There is a .mov file of Phantar and myself singing "I'm a lumberjack", however, that has very little to do with the event itself.
Pics will be on the website over the next few days...
Apparently Captain plans to add it on later and effectively tell the tale of the tournament. There will be superimposed (is that word spelt right?) graphics too and filled with both gameplay and live action.
Congratulations AEther, it was a very close competition, but I think you guys deserved it due to your superiority in the 3-player games :ok:
I have to apologise to all Germans and especially to the Kaiser for losing the last decisive game. Alas I must admit that the Portuguese were the better players this time. They really deserve the European Championship title. It was an honour for me to play against them.
Furthermore I would like to thank Mr Smith and Lord Dilks for their efforts with the tournament. They went out of their way to ensure that everyone had a great time. The event will be remembered as an important milestone in the history of the Mega Drive. The organisation was superb and I enjoyed this weekend very much.
I’m already looking forward to the next international tournament where I hope to face Lord Dilks in a prestigious rematch.
Oh, by the way since Monday there is a new shirt available at all German football shops.
Ok, good old Captain Maltby.
I wonder if he will await the independent footage also. There was plenty of live-action stuff filmed by Liam and his associate.
It was a fantastic weekend and we very much look forward to meeting you all again. You are all great people. It was brilliant. :)
It was a pleasure welcoming both Germany and Portugal to England.
You all put in fantastic performances (which is more than can be said for Team England) and the Tournament went better than we could ever have hoped for.
I look forward to our World Cup Italia '90 rematch sir! Argenina vs Brazil next time? ;)
I want one of those new T-Shirts!!!!!!!
Just worked my way back home (I curse the German railway system!). Anyways, Thank you very much for a great weekend and an exciting tournament, and congratulations again to Team Portugal for winning the cup (and especially to Alberto Campos for being MVP of the tournament). It was a very close call at times, like the race in Sonic 3 decided by a time difference of 0.04 seconds(!), or that last three-pointer in Barkley - but nevertheless, you've earned the cup, and I'm definitely looking forward to the next tournament! And we'll go try and put a German championship together! After that experience, it'll be worth it for sure.
Oh, and I'm definitely interested in that video footage myself! Keep me updated on that, allright?
Dear lord, someone actually recorded that? Oh well, I'm used to making an ass of myself :pQuote:

Awesome weekend, awesome tourney! Amazing how after 4+hours and so many games played it still had to be decided on the last game! Very close and exciting competition specially from team Germany who proved to be very strong and well prepared. You guys were formidable opponents. Hope we can meet again in the future and battle it out again. =)
And despite the poor results, congratulations to Mr Smith, team England and all others for being such great hosts. :notworthy:
Maybe a little bit more team strategy and less media pressure will let you show your real value next year? I'm certain you can do better than what you've shown. ;)
Cheers!
Glad to hear you all enjoyed the event :) It was an awesome contest made all the more awesome by how wonderful you all were. There were some really amazing games and some titanic tussles. Let's hope 2009 brings some equally classic game play.
I will send you all copies of the footage when it has been completed. I am also very interested to see the on-stage interviews!
The photographs from the tournament can be downloaded via the following link:

This is awesome :D I wish I could participate someday...
There should be a pic with all the names of everyone... I only recognize few faces I've seen in the "post pic of yourself" thread.
That, my friend, was awesome stuff and I just wish I could be there with you guys to take part in it.
Hopefully someday, huh? ;)
And TmEE is right. Names on one picture would be great.
