At first glance this looks like a MegaDrive copy of the game, but the box and label say GENESIS not MEGADRIVE.

They used to sell those here in Tucson at discount store. If you look closely even more wierdly it says for play on Megadrive at the very bottom. I had a copy of Flicky like that. I heard they are Canadian but I don't think that is true.
Canadian... I saw a Tazmania like that, yet it had a US Manual. I live 20-30 minutes from the Canadian border and that was the only Canadian game I ever saw.
It is Canadian, I have it. Same thing, except European art and the manuel is in French too.
Though I was dumb and threw away the box...
What game isn't "RARE" in the wide world of Ebay?
If this had the manual, or at least didn't have the tag on the cart, I'd have used the BIN already ... arrrgggh. I really want to get my hands on one of these.
BTW, I bought a Revenge of Shinobi from a guy who was close to the Canadian border like I am... even though it was cart and box only, it had a PAL manual. I threw the cart in the trash and kept the manual. So now my Revenge of Shinobi has a US and a PAL manual.
Despite this being incomplete, I might buy it. I don't yet have Sonic 1, I've never seen a copy in the local stores except for one that appeared to be damaged beyond repair, and the art is so much more attractive than the (IMHO) ugly USA art.
It is against the laws of the Gods to commit such a foul deed upon that cart. You must commit suicide as soon as possible.Quote:

Actually... It was the bastardized version that didn't have Batman, so it was worthless.
I did save the cart label since it was better than my cart that had Batman.

Honestly, I've never thrown a game away. People throw away all sorts, and it generally seems wasteful to me.
A relative of mine threw away their MD / MCD because they "stopped working", and that was only 2-3 years after they got them! They did give me "a few" of their games though: Hang On, Talespin & Mega Games 1.
I don't talk to them anymore. ;)
I actually mentioned this before, and there was no outcry.

Nope, not rare... It's not like I threw away a copy of Radient Silvergun or some RARE OMG title like that.
Now would you be upset if I threw away a copy of Madden?
Yeah, it's not rare, but that's not the issue - I guess I just find it sort of sad when a perfectly good game (or thing with other salvageable bits, like my MD/CD example) is sent to the dump - someone might want them?
Meh. I wouldn't really mind if you sent Madden to the crusher, no.
That said, I still give floorspace to around 80 sports games I can't seem to exchange for money, and have no intention of playing.
I guess I'm just a bit mental. :/
That's the Candaian copy of... bugger you guys beat me to it.
I used to own a Brazilian copy of the game that had that cover. I was hoping it might have had that "Version 1" of Sonic (moving clouds, spike thing fixed)...
Nope.
Oh well, it only set me back $6. I think I got $5 for it when I sold it off.
