Steel Talons
Anyone remember this game? Another Tengen/Atari arcade port of a 3D arcade game that was of course vastly superior than the home port we got.
I know it's horrible, but I sadly can still have fun with both this and Hard Drivin'. They're always universally mocked and I can fully see why, but I still have a decently fun time with them and their horrible polygonal graphics.
Then again, this is coming from the guy who thought Batman Forever was fun, so...

I think I liked the Atari Lynx version. Or maybe it was the Genesis version?

On Tuesday I'll be posting a phone interview I did with Lee Actor, one of the guys who did both Steel Talons and Hard Drivin'. He gives a good bit of info about doing those 3D games on the Genesis.

Awesome, Melf, I'll be looking forward to it.

I was just thinking about Hard Drivin, I used to have it as a kid but sadly don't anymore. I remember mashing the peddle and stearing it right into the cardboard looking cow by the barn, the Moo it lets out when you hit it always made me laugh.

I own Steel Talons. I find it fun, more fun than F117 Night Storm, which makes me dizzy looking at it. I do still play Night Storm, but not often.

I played Steel Talons in the arcade at the mall whenever I could. They kept it there for 10 years before it was replaced. I went to Toys 'R Us with the intention of getting it for my 12th birthday on the Genesis. However, I noticed another game and agonized for 30 min over which one was better. In the end I chose the superior game...LHX Attack Chopper.
I liked F-117 Night Storm until the mission in South America (Argentina?) where it became ridiculously hard.

I loved Hard Drivin' on the Genesis. I probably played it more than any other person ever played that game. Steel Talons, I know I rented it but I don't think it was my cup of tea. The military polygon stuff was never really more than a curiosity.
