So, I just snatched up Cotton Boomerang ($15 w/ spinecard...which is apparently exciting the clerk told me) for the Saturn. I have been unable to obtain an affordable copy of Panorama Cotton (I absolutely refuse to pay $200 + for a Genesis game, period) and stumbled on this. It's pretty cool. Anybody really into the series that thinks Cotton 2 (Saturn) is worth obtaining as well?
Panorama Cotton goes for only $150 these days, so there is no reason not to get it.

The place I go to sells all imports for bottom prices to unload them...there isn't much local demand so they bottom bin 'em. Only certain imports do they charge full price for (Radiant Silvergun/Ikaruga/Dracula X--Castlevania and some Neo Geo imports )
I used to live in South Cali. Where is this place and do they have a web site? Thanks.
Game Dude in North Hollywood...their imports average around $15-$20 except for the obviously rare ones. They've got decent prices all around.
Just google them, they have their current price lists for just about everything online. But you'll actually have to head on in to get what you want, I don't believe you can order from them. Their import selection is not extensive mind you, this was a lucky find.

I would but cotton 2. I have only played it on Mame but has such a cool atmpsphere to it. It si on my list. t is alot like Boomerang.
I'm aiming to get the Saturn games as well. From what I've seen, they're very much alike, and if you like one you'll probably like the other....
I have Panorama Cotton and Cotton 100% for the Super Famicom. Both 16-bit games looked pretty decent to me, albeit being very different from each other.
If you can find Rainbow Cotton for the Dreamcast for me that would be awesome!
Next time I'm there, I'll look. Is it Japanese or is there a North american release?
The only Cotton games with a North American release are the original Cotton for Turbo CD, and Cotton for NGPC. All other Cotton releases are Japan-only.
Rainbow Cotton is a japanese title and for the Sega Dreamcast system. If you can't find it, see if they still got Cotton Boomerang for the Saturn. Thanks!Quote:

Yeah, Cotton 2 has the aforementioned cinematics, but imo Boomerang is still worth owning because the gameplay is greatly altered from Cotton 2 and between the 3 variations of Cotton, the 3 variations of Appli, Cotton's fairy Silk and Appli's magic hat Needle as each character has unique shot patterns. Also, a single hit will kill in Boomerang, but there is no limit on power shots.
Rainbow Cotton really isn't worth it unless you're a completist - it looks pretty, but it's a highly flawed game and not a patch on Panorama Cotton.
