Maybe I have just been living under a rock but somehow I missed out on this one. Has anyone here ever heard of the Sega Sound Team (S.S.T.) ?

I've heard some of their versions of sega music before, but had no idea they played live and people went to see them - that could only of happened in Japan! :D
Yeah, I have a bunch of their music. Their not bad, but have been outdone by better arrangements since.
Interesting. Who else is rocking out Sega songs besides them and MegaDriver?
SST BAND used to be Sega's in-house live band - they re-arranged Sega music and released it in compilations, and played the occasional live show. They're not a very good live performance, to be honest - the DVD included with the OutRun 20th Anniversary Box collection had one of their concerts as a feature. They drifted away sometime in the early 1990s and have since been superseded by SEGAROCKS as Sega's unofficial band, who to date have released two-and-a-half albums (SEGAROCKS vols 1 and 2, and a live in concert CD/DVD). These are very cheap on Play-Asia, grab a copy!
Go!Go!SEGA RALLY performance:
SEGAGAGA March performance (if this doesn't cause you to cry the tears of pure fanboyism, you are dead inside):
Sega Saturn, Shiro! performance:
Their rendition of Palma's theme from Phantasy Star, In The Blue Sky from Virtual-ON, and the Name Register theme from Sonic Boom are also brilliant.
