Yesterday, June 23th, was the 17th birthday of Sonic. But I couldn't see much on the net about it, even Sega's American website seems to be focused on his new Hulk game. I admit, I didn't remember as well, but today I accidentaly found a blogger post that comented about it. And by the way, I saw nothing here as well...
Is Sonic being forgotten by his fans? :(
I couldn't locate another topic about this, sorry if there is one already.
I can barely remember any friends or relatives birthdays, I can't be remembering the birthdays of fictional characters too, theres just not enough room in the date section of my brain!
Anyway 17 isn't much of a momentus birthday, I'm sure when number 20 arrives Sega will make more of a fuss, that is if they haven't killed off the last of the Hedgehogs good reputation by then...
Yeah... I bet that... (checking the name again)... Magical Taruruuto-Kun is a much more important thing to the Genesis :)

/v/ remembered, and damned Sonic for all the crap Sonic games that have been coming out since the Dreamcast was semi-retired.
I think sonic should age in his games, by now he would have sideburns and peircings and tattoos and be too cool for tails. He would rebel and start hanging out with robotnik and smoking reefer
17 isn't significant. Wait until his 20th.
I have a "limited edition" (probably unlicensed) 15th anniversary Sonic the Hedgehog statue/action figure.
Its pretty bad ass.
It's obvious that something will happen for his 20th, anyway; what I'm certain of is that as long as there is a SEGA, there will be Sonic games. 17 just isn't really a nice, momentous number - but still impressive nonetheless!
(I'll still celebrate the Dreamcast's anniversary out of bitterness and spite at what SHOULD HAVE BEEN though :I )
