No, The graphics are updated in Outrun ingame Shenmue II. The car sprite has completely changed and I believe that the graphics were touched up. Play the original version (Outrun Set 1,2,3) AND THEN play Outrun on Shenmue II. Much different. Just check it out.Quote:

I have a slight topic derailing question: does anyone else have a problem running outrun, turbo outrun, and outrunners at full speed? Outrun runs fine graphically but has slow sound, turbo outrun runs like crap, outrunners runs a little better than turbo outrun but is still bad. Is this just because the Mac OS X version of MAME isn't as good? Several other games also run slow while others of the same time frame and graphical intensity seem to run full speed with near perfect accuracy. If anyone can tell me what version of MAME you use or what frontend you use (especially if outrun, etc. runs full speed for you), that'd be great.
Section Z was pretty cool, Golden Axe, Lethal Enforcers, Mortal Kombat II, Metal Slug, Ninja Spirit and Splatterhouse were awesome too.
