Which platform would this be best on? I'm thinking XBLA, PSN, or WiiWare rather than a full scale release.

I hope Windows XPHE. PC shooting games are quite popular in Japan, so it shouldn't be impossible.
Likely a fake page you posted there.
Got the link from gonintendo.com, kind of thought it looked suspicious as well. Thunderforce as one word kind of raises the old eyebrows. Still, one can dream.
Looks fake but *crosses fingers*
Can't wait! And I hope Wiiware.
That site has been there for a long time...
Well the domain seems to be based in Japan and its description contains the following Japanese text translated to the superior English language: "In the game development company which is known “the thunder fourth” series and the like. Nagasaki prefecture."
http://www.aboutus.org/TecnoSoft.com
So someone in Japan must have snapped up the domain name, but it likely isn't the REAL Tecno Soft. They don't have e-mail setup, but you can contact junk184+technosoftcom@gmail.com. I sent them an e-mail.

According to Famitsu, Thunderforce VI is for PlayStation2, will be released in 2008, at least in Japan.
Quote:
Thunderforce VI - PS2 - 10/30
Developer: SEGA
Publisher: SEGA
Thunder Force VI will be arriving almost exactly 25 years after the very first game in the series came out, and 20 years after the original version of Thunder Force II.
25 years ago:
Thunder Force - first released in 1983 on several different 8-bit Japanese computers (not Japanese IBM PCs but non-PC computers). Was then released on several more Japanese computers in 1984 and 1985.
20 years ago:
Thunder Force II - The first 16-bit game in the series! Released on the very powerful 16-bit Japanese Sharp X68000 computer. Was a huge leap beyond any version of TF1. This would be the starting point for later console games in the series. ( 1988)
19 years ago:
Thunder Force II with downgraded graphics & audio, intro cinema removed, 2 levels cut out, several weapon systems gone, top-view map removed and other minor changes is released for the Sega MegaDrive in Japan and Genesis in the U.S. at Genesis' launch. This would be most people's first taste of the series. Even though MD/Gen TF II wasn't as good as the X68000 version, it was still pretty awesome. (1989)
18 years ago:
The then all-new Thunder Force III is released for the Sega MegaDrive/Genesis. The top view levels are dropped, only horizontally scrolling levels are used this time. Although running on the same generation of hardware as both versions of TF II, software wise, TF III was a major leap in quality and a true 2nd-generation MD/Gen game. (1990)
TF III is so good, it is used as the starting point of Thunder Force AC for arcades. Although TFAC is not a straight port . At least two TF III stages are dropped. New stages are created and one stage from TFII is also used. (1990)
17 years ago:
Thunder Force AC is ported down to the Super Famicom/ SNES with slowdown and renamed Thunder Spirits (1991)
16 years ago:
Thunder Force IV is released in Japan for the MegaDrive, it gets renamed Lightening Force for the Genesis in the U.S. (1992)
11 years ago:
Thunder Force V is released for the Saturn in Japan (1997)
10 years ago:
Thunder Force V: Perfect System is released for the PlayStation in Japan and in the U.S. (1998)
That's great news indeed! Now all I need is for NCS to open up pre-orders for the game and it'll be mine. I'm hoping that Sega/Tecnosoft will offer some kind of limited edition version with a soundtrack.
It's good they release it for the PS2. It is better than those other options listed, since I have a PS2.
Man, now I HAVE to get a PS2 if this gets a US release.
I don't know why I never have got one before, though.
Holy shit. If this happens, I'll definitely have to mod my PS2.
I have a hard drive on my PS2. That allows me to play import games. Unfortunately that means I'll have to copy the game DVD on my computer to the PS2 hard drive before it will work, and success isn't even 100% guaranteed!
