Abba a wretched band who have plagued night clubs with the likes of waterloo and dancing queen for eons decided they'd make a bloody musical with all their damned songs...

Its called Mama Mia and my girlfriend dragged me to it tonight..

Christopher Nolan is an incredible director, Christain Bale is the "shit" and this movie is going to rock...

Chickflicks are the bane of all men, unfortunately sometimes they are a pill that must be swallowed :(

We open two prints of this thing this Friday at my theater. I have no intention of watching... especially listening to it. I like how it is very bright and sharp, but that's not enough for me to sit in the actual auditorium.

Is the movie doing well... is it busy?

Europe has made up for that by wholeheartedly praising the greatest singer the US ever had, David Hasselhoff.

David Hasslehoff is a forgotten actor in the US. We like to make fun of him here as well as point and laugh at him. I love Norm MacDonald's tagline of "Germans love David Hasslehoff!"

You are a liar. David Hasselhoff is extremely popular in the US. That is as true as that Germans love David Hasselhoff just because he had one no.1-hit here, in 1989.

At least the Cardigans are pretty good.

He only needs one #1 hit to endure FOREVER.

I would just like to go back on topic and share my contempt for ABBA. What a worthless, hateful bunch of overly cheerful hippies. They always sound far too happy and all their songs sound as if they're smiling no matter what the subject matter. They could bounce out a cheerful song about rape, torture and the war in Iraq. Ban ABBA!

That #1 song in 1989 was all that was needed to destroy the iron curtain and unite Germany. When he steps up to that mic, what he sings is concentrated commie busting and country unifying magic.

The reason his music is so reviled here is because this country is both non-communist and unified. If the country is only one of these, it works. If the country is both, it has no effect.

Abba's okay, but the A-Teens are great. Yeah, it's rehashed Abba, but some of their remixes are phenomenal. I really need to look into their follow-up discs one of these days. Sweden also gave us Skwisgaar Skwigelf, too. :)

On the other hand the hoff totally rocks, "come on get in my car" what a legend, a comedian too, and certainly more of a rocker than abba..

Also his cameo in sponge bob square pants movie was perfect...

Hmmm. Zebbe and ABBA those two names look a bit similar don't they. Both have two vowels with two consonant in between them and they are both short for someting else. I smell conspiracy. :p

My knowledge of European bands should be good considering that 1/4 of my CD collection is electronic music of European origin.

The A-Teens are even worse than Abba. What can be more poor than a band of young people dedicating their career to covering Abba-songs?
Abba is definately the worst thing from Sweden. Oh well, I think Dolph Lundgren and eating sheep´s heads are pretty close too.

And I want a free bookshelf too. IKEA rocks. Ever seen a report on IKEA in China? I sure did. Most people in China can´t afford IKEA-stuff, but still the shop is always crowded; people there just like hanging out in IKEA for some reason, and eating Swedish meatballs in it´s restaurant. Maybe they like it there because it is more comfortable than their own homes.

I'd forgotten about A-Teens, damnit. And that horrible late 90s Abba Medley involving Steps and B*Witched (the asterisk is actually a form of censorship). Thanks for reminding me, I must now rampage / destroy a series of small villages until I feel better.

I'd go on about how Steps/A-Teens/B*Witched and all that are shit, but Limp Bizkit was worse and they lasted longer too long.

IKEA rocks, man! Around here in my hometown it's the closest we have to a mall... with restaurants, playgrounds, and a convenience store nearby...

But then again, back in Germany I live in the middle of nowhere, so that's not really impressive...

Oh, and thinking of bands: Finland is far Superior!!! Sweden has Ace of Base, Abba, A-Teens... and Finland? Lordi, Eläkeläiset, and Apocalyptica! Finland rocks!!!
