Nazis are awesome.
Hahaha... Wow... what an invitation from that one thread.
There is a new sequal to the Nut Cracker. It is called the Nut Ni--er.
*reads first post*
*puts on a mustache*
FINALLY! someone says what we are all thinking.
Agreed, Hermann Göring would be a delight to witness prancing around on skates. I think they should also rein-act the Nuremberg trails, hang the bastards, then do Hitler on Ice 2, in which all the Nazi's are Zombies/Super Zombies and threaten the freedoms and liberties of your average Americans by fielding a candidate during your 2008 elections. I estimate such a production would require about 190 million of your US dorrals.
This is just like the scenario mentioned by my earlier comment on Rusty.. the one about your knowledge (in the sweden thread), I see a case in point arising right here, 108 will join with smith rambling on about the third reich or some crap british world war sitcom and you'll know what they're on about!! ;)
Wait, I'm confused, is this thread about racism or being a racist or what?
I believe Joe Redifer put it best:
"I wish fat people were a race, then I could be racist against them"
Anybody heres seen the Producers? I mean the old one.
No need for a comedy on Hitler & Co. Learn German and watch the original speeches, that stuff is hilarious enough. I love the process against the companions of Stauffenberg, where they had taken away one of the defendants belts so that he had to hold up his trousers with his hands, and the judge cried something like "stop playing around with your trousers you disgusting old man!"
But there actually is one Nazi-sitcom, that old Hogan´s Heroes-series. Although I must say that most likely Schulz and Colonel Klink did raise sympathy for the Nazis. I mean, I may be somewhat biased, but I think that they were the real stars of that show.
I still wish I had a Pickelhaube like the one on Klink´s desk....although I don´t understand what it was doing there, as these helmets were no longer used in WWII. Anyway, these things cost a fortune today.
You know racism sucks, but I was thinking why not have a special holiday once a year that embraces racism. A day where we can call each other whatever derogatory slur we can think of. Just think you wake up on that very special day, put on your slippers, look out your window and there is a nice burning cross someone has taken the time to put on your lawn. Taking the time to show someone just how much you hate and resent them and how very special that hate is to you and your family is what its all about. We should welcome the prejudice of others into our hearts and our homes.
Good thing he ignored his generals most of the time and they didn't have a lot of gas.
I wish I was black/jewish/muslim so I couldn't be called a racist. Almost.
Which pretty much is what being a racist is all about. The number of races you are against is not important; even if you only hate Spanish people you are a racist. And if you are a German and hate all other races, you are one too.
So, they were "just" racists.
I'm not racist, I hate everybody.
I am half black, half catholic, half muslim, half asain, half white, half golden retriever and half goldfish.
Speaking of Germany, I have written my senior history thesis about WW I...lol...and I'm being totally honest here but I wrote that the greatest global strategic mistake in American history was siding with England in WW I. I believe I back up my argument pretty well too! It's taken me almost a year now to write this thing with over 50 primary/secondary sources. I'm glad it's almost finished too! But, I basically conclude that the Central Powers were justified in going to war and I really attack the modern idea (at least in US high schools) that German "imperialism" was what caused the war when England and France both controlled over 1/2 the freaking globe and Germany had a brewery in Tsingtao (but much more academically of course...). So yeah, thought I'd throw that out there...
I went to a US high school and they never taught us that German imperialism was the cause of WW1. What I recall my history book saying was that WW1 was caused by a Serbian assassinating Franz Ferdinand and the government of Austria-Hungary using it as a pretext to invade, with other countries falling into place based on previous conflicts and alliances.
But I do find it interesting that you believe the Central Powers were justified in going to war. I don't think Serbia deserved invasion due to a murder committed by one of its citizens. Besides, I can't think of any point in the war when it would've made sense for the US to jump in on behalf of the Central Powers.
There was a Nazi sitcom in the UK called Heil Honey I'm Home. It was about alternate versions of Adolph Hitler and Eva Braun living in a suburban town next door to a Jewish couple. It was simultaneously a parody of American sitcoms from the 50's. One episode aired and it was immediately cancelled.
In the Kaiser´s time Germany did nothing worse than other nations did....the real problem was that the Kaiser was not a politically carefull man, as he should have kept a bit of a low profile. Germany had been unimportant since being defeated by Napoleon which meant the end of the first Reich. It was no major player. But then came another French invasion in 1870; one which Germany retaliated successfully, and declared the second Reich in Versailles; quite a good place to humilate the French in return for their earlier destruction of the old Reich. Then Germany really grew and became a major player again. Unfortunately, Wilhelm II, son of the first Kaiser of the second Reich, was more of a childish man than a clever politician. He did love military, he did like technology and was impressed by the UK´s fleet. He wanted to be strong and cool just like that. Never would he have wanted a war with the UK; he loved Britain.
But for the other big nations of Europe, like the UK and France, Germany´s growth both economically and in military power was somewhat unwelcome; so they waited for a chance and reason to take out the relatively new competitor, and Wilhelm´s rather naive alliance with the Austrian Empire gave them the reason needed; Austria declaring war meant Germany going to war too, and that caused a chain reaction of alliances with pretty much all of Europe joining in.
Wilhelm even tried to persuade his royal relatives in the Austria, the UK and Russia to stop this madness; there is this famous letter to the Russian Emperor. "Dear Nikki":D
But even when the war was unavoidable he did not see the size of what he got himself into and thought the little war would be over by Christmas.
And in war, the Kaiser soon lost all control due to his non-existent talent for military.
The whole issue of declaring him alone responsible for the war is sad for me; he sure was not. He was a beloved man among his people, nominated for the nobel price for peace, he introduced social care, lowered the working times, introduced mothers vacation from work after getting a baby....all good things that were forgotten in 1918, when the propaganda made it look like he was some mad overlord. The sentence of death by hanging for him is really a shame; it shows just how justice of the winners was handled before the revolutionary trials of Nürnberg.
Wilhelms reputation never recovered from that, although today historians usually agree that it was not his fault alone; mind you, I don´t say he is innocent in all points, but you don´t hang people for being a bad politician.
We can be thankfull to the Americans; they were the ones that did not support total destruction of Germany like France and the UK did. If it wasn´t for them, this country would not exist anymore.
But still, the reparations Germany had to pay, with even railroad tracks and factories being dismantled and taken to Russia, let people starve and made a path for a REAL mad overlord to come; people here had no reason to love other nations anymore, they wanted revenge. Then came that messiah, making Germany big again, bringing work...and causing the real trouble. By the way, something that Wilhelm II had foreseen, stating that the Germans will someday learn the terrible mistake they have done with following the Nazis. (His wife on the other hand sent a congratulations letter in his stead to Hitler for defeating France).
After WWII it was the Americans again that were most helpful to us; they pumped money into the country (even though it was because it was the cold war frontier), and later the US were the only ones who were truly supporting the reunion here.
Only one thing bothers me: They did not allow monarchy to be introduced again after WWII, although there were quite some people who would have wanted it. I actually still want a new Kaiser; for representative purposes though, with not too much actual power. Like in the other modern monarchies. Germany had a long tradition of Kaisers, and I feel that something of the country´s identity is missing today. Too bad the last Kaiser´s grand-children sunk very low, with the latest prince being rather retarded. He worked in supermarkets and on fairgrounds, and now makes the garden of prince Frederic, husband of Zsazsa Gabor (the one that claimed to be father of Anna Nicole Smith´s child), who in turn became prince by being adopted by one of the Kaiser´s stepdaughters I believe....however, the righteous heir to the throne is an idiot, so a new Kaiser would need to be elected.
Here´s a pic of the heir (left) working in Frederic´s (right) garden...

BTW, did you know that the German Reich still exists? It was never officially disbanded. As a matter of fact, it still exists on the same territory as the Federal Republic of Germany, but is inactive because it does not have any working structures. Some people declaring themself head of the Reich try to trick people into becoming citizens of it because they only charge 1/4 of the taxes or so....of course this is just a way to rip people off.:P
We did the same with Japan. But you are right that it wasn't so much of a "let's help them because they are Germany/Japan" it was more "Let's help them so Communism doesn't take hold in those countries".
You're just saying that because the US sent Hoff to destroy Communism.Quote:
...and later the US were the only ones who were truly supporting the reunion here.
I'm half dragon, half boy. No wait I'm half dragon, half human, 100% boy. If I was only 50% boy, I wouldn't have a dragon's male body part.
Interesting read 108. I know very little about what happend to Royality in Germany after the first world war. I know Wilhelm II sat out WWII in the Netherlands. He even tastefully refused asylum offerd to him by the British during the invasion. 108 were there any kind of movements for a new Kaiser after the second world war? I know there were and still are lots of aristocratic famailes in Germay to this day.
The Marshall plan really very political. Money was only given after communists were basically expelled or leat taken out of power.
I thought Germany didn't exist until 1871 ?
I would call that bullshit. Germany invaded France and Russia (and other countries).
Which he was, but you're right when you call it propaganda. WW1 was initiated with support by the SPD (which led to the split with the communists led by Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht). The SPDs success with the working class during the years before the war was why this mad overlord did do the things you've listed in my quote of you above.
After the war, the SPD wasn't exactly happy with their decision to support the war and the mad overlord, so they blamed him for everything in the hope people would forget who betrayed them.
Well, Germans weren't exactly peaceful before that (WW1 etc. pp.), so it's no big surprise they once again were preparing to conquer the world.
The part about the reparations is what I call bullshit #2: It's been the world economy crisis that caused the starvation, not the reparations.
Now that would be awesome, I wonder how I could lived without a Kaiser until now. Life would be so much better. =P
I would not call the reperations bullshit. They were not the only problem but did help to destroy the economy of Germany. This is not a desputed fact. Having to take out loans on loans to pay off debts to the allied powers had a devestating effect. . Yes the depression did lead to starvtion etc but would it have been as bad with out the reperations? Our one sided trading policies also did significant damage. Either way the German people were pissed about it.
Change the thread title.
What exactly do people mean by Napolean conquoring places? Do they mean he led out a ton of insane people killing random innocent people in countries like Hitler did?
No, Napoleon did (try to) free some countries from monarchy. The things Nazi-Germany did had nothing to do with a normal war, they were trying to wipe huge parts of the world's population off the planet and whoever survived it was meant to work as a slave if he/she was lucky.
