I'm amazed that Sonic has survived after ten years of tat. How many other game characters could survive for that long on rubbish games? The sad thing is that some truly awesome characters never make it past their first game...

Sonic used to be "Sonic", now wherever he goes he's always got two other fucking hedgehogs and 700 friends with him or (now) a fucking sword.
What possible fucking reason is there to give Sonic a sword? I can only see it as some way to try and keep him current by having him do something "different".
Just give Sonic to Nintendo and let them do a game. They had Sonic in a "Smash Brothers" game and they did him more justice in that one game than SEGA has done in over a decade.
Maybe Sonic will be going all Power of Greyskull on Robotnik's arse.
