It's times like these that make me happy that I was never really a Sonic fan. Sure, the first couple of games were good, but I still liked many games like Thunder Force 3, Castle of Illusion and Road Rash much, much, much better.

I think they just do this for money. Why make a generic sword game when it can be Sonic?
The biggest issue here is the fact that Unleashed looks fucked up too. If that was a 'real' Sonic game, then this occured, it would not be so bad.
Frankly, I stopped caring after the original "Sonic Adventure". Since then, I couldn't be bothered to pick up or play any other Sonic game (not even the aforementioned "Adventure" nowadays......horrible control and camera) for more than a couple of minutes, even though they've been easily at my disposal. I've just sat back and watched the roller-coaster descent of this franchise and LMAO'd all of the way.
Then again, I have been losing that drive and excitement for video games for a long while now. I think its because I've become burnt out from being stuck in a pre-Dreamcast/PS2 video game time warp for the last 7-8 years, in which I've completely forgone the last two console gens for simpler stuff. Now I'm tired of that as well. I lose.
Perhaps they should attempt to re-launch "Vectorman" another time, maybe even Alex Kidd...........
I weep for the future of gaming, until my kids leave home I'm not going to allow them to play anything other than Saturn and Megadrive, perhaps a bit of Dreamcast on special occasions.

I'm amazed that Sonic has survived after ten years of tat. How many other game characters could survive for that long on rubbish games? The sad thing is that some truly awesome characters never make it past their first game...

Sonic used to be "Sonic", now wherever he goes he's always got two other fucking hedgehogs and 700 friends with him or (now) a fucking sword.
What possible fucking reason is there to give Sonic a sword? I can only see it as some way to try and keep him current by having him do something "different".
Just give Sonic to Nintendo and let them do a game. They had Sonic in a "Smash Brothers" game and they did him more justice in that one game than SEGA has done in over a decade.
Maybe Sonic will be going all Power of Greyskull on Robotnik's arse.
