what a load of bullshit: more video game addiction BS
I think I'm gonna have to make a video refuting all these ridiculous "video game addiction" videos. Video games require more problem solving and quick thinking than almost anything encountered in daily life and if anything make you better at thinking on your toes rather than making you a mindless drone. If video games are such mindless and stupid entertainment, why is it that the people that play them tend to wind up as some sort of engineer or computer science major whereas the people that don't play them end up marrying their cousin and telling people to "get off ma proper-tuh!"

They lost me at showing "Sonic Spinball".
Truthfully, I've heard that those doctors that use those "robot" surgeons are advised to play video games to heighten/improve their hand/eye coordination.

Bottom line: some personalities have a predilection to addiction and the addiction can be anything: alcohol, sex/porn, the internet, drugs and yes, even video games. That said, it's not the fault of these things that people become addicted to them, it's the person's fault. Have some self control for crying out loud. When are we as a society going to abandon this ridiculous victim mentality and reestablish some sense of personal accountability?

At any rate, I think the whole "its an addiction" is blown out of proportion anyway. People like to do what they like to do, why does that automatically make it an addiction? Of course kids don't want to do homework, if he didn't have a Nintendo he'd watch TV or go play with Legos. Young kids don't appreciate the learning process, hell, I'm 22 and I still fucking despise homework.

I think the kid was trying his best "teacher from Peanuts cartoons" impression.

Well, first off, I misspelled it, it should be: predilection.
It means to have a predisposition for something.

That video is so right, playing Sonic is exactly like having sex and being high on hallucinogens. Thats why there are so many Sonic rehab clinics, and why Sega had to make crappy 3D sonic games to prevent society from collapsing.

I wonder what would happen if I got drunk, lit a cigarette and had sex while I was playing Sonic CD in those crazy pinball stages. My head would probably explode or something...
or maybe it would be the best damn orgasm ever. I'll see if I can get the ladies in on it...
"Hey babe, while you're undressing, let me fire up the Genesis"
