Yes, I definitley agree with this but in video games it can go both ways, it can either be an addiction OR a retreat from reality because to be honest most people feel purposeless and hanging out on an MMO or any other game makes time go faster and gives them a synthetic community that they can fit into easily. Its kind of sad but it happens more often then not in the present times. This guy I know lost 4 years of his life to Everquest and now he play WoW. He is how you say a struggling gamer or what have you.

I had a friend that got WOW like the day or at least the week it came out, he played that shit almost every waking minute. I watched him play a couple times and was like "why in the hell would anyone want to play this shit?" and went home and played some Sonic 2 and had an orgasm (apparently).

when you get off your high horse and realise that people with addictions are generally in deep need of either medical or psychological help and thus beyond simple 'self control'?
