Nice! I hope that Value Village sticker comes off well. Clean it up a bit and you're a winner!
Oh yeah they had a bunch of SMS games for $5.99 also (funny how the whole system with two controllers is the same price as a game lol) but I didn't wanna start grabbing cause that $6 would have added up fast! I did grab one Alien Syndrome in the case.
Shock.... and awe....

My other one has a connection to the board in there.
Some FM sound processor I think??
Anyway it cleaned up nice enough...

I believe all SMSs have that plastic tab underneath the cover. You have to break it off. It is a direct connection to the cartridge port, actually, just a male version.
Also, those are the wrong cables if it has red and white wires.
oh the previous owner must have broken the plastic piece out.
Yeah those are my Genesis2/32X AV Stereo cables with the 32X to Model 1 adapter. Works tho!
How are you getting audio? The 32X model 1 to model 2 adapter does not carry audio to the stereo pins on the stereo cable. You should use the mono cable.
wha? It works man sound and all!
Both left and right? Is the Genesis 2/32X cable an official Sega cable or an off-brand?
Well obviously the SMS isn't Stereo so that doesn't matter either way its one audio channel is getting to the TV just as if only one cable was there! I use these same 32X to Model 1 cables to go out from a Model 1 to AV as well. Once again Model 1 isn't Stereo out the rear but as far as audio goes it works great.
I don't know if they are "Sega" cables or not I got them both (I have 2 identical) at a pawn shop.
They look real I mean the lead filter plastic cylinder thingy on the adapter cables and the actual 32X cable look the exact same and they both actually have "LTK" along with some other stuff written on the wire.

EDIT: Oh! I just realized you are asking about the Stereo AV cable being legit... no its a 3rd party special!
You know, I REALLY could've used one of those 32X-to-Genesis 1 (or 2) mixing cables back when I owned a boxed, complete 32X for about a week in 2001. All it was missing was THAT cable.
Floppy drive.
