Okay, I can admit when I'm wrong (Dreamcast Thread part II)

A couple months ago I proclaimed that the Dreamcast didn't seem to fit in with Sega. (Didn't get it when it was released as I was bitter about the halting of saturn support, this really left a sour taste in my mouth after the $$ spent.)

Now, I do still put the Saturn above the Dreamcast, but I've had some pretty cool experiences with my buddy's dreamcast and his vast collection (I only ever had 5 games, so it was unfair of me to bitch in retrospect)...

But Rez (this is probably one of my favorite games of all time now...amazing shit), GTA 2 (this reminds me of a Genesis game, it really does, I love it), Gunbird 2 (great sequel), Sonic Adventure, Rayman 2, D2--I had no idea this existed, the original was a favvy of mine, Stupid invaders, Starlancer, Cannon Spike, Bomb Hehhee! (this game rocks too), Alone in the Dark (another cool sequel--I love AiTD) Resident Evil...I was so wrong. The Dreamcast rocks and I have re-purchased one and plan on getting Rez first thing.

As I said, Saturn will always be a few steps above it and Genesis will always rule but I think it is an amazing system and I was dead ass wrong.

Go dreamcast.

Yes, the Dreamcast is an awesome system.
Although I was a bit disappointed on Gunbird 2, but that's not Sega's fault, it's just Psikyo's design that's not so much above the original Gunbird....

Games that had a huge impact on my appreciation for the DC were Ready 2 Rumble, Tennis 2K2, Giga Wing (the best of the series IMO), Mars Matrix and Ikaruga.

I think I'll bring my DC to college with me next semester instead of XBox... Powerstone parties!

Sega should have re-released the Dreamcast as a portable system, so many awesome games.

The Dreamcast was a very worthy send off for Sega. Lots of great niche titles from every kind of genre imaginable.

Music? Space Channel 5.
RPG? Grandia II.
FPS(lasher)? Maken X.
Fighting games? Rival Schools, Last Blade, KOF, Fatal Fury... list goes on and on.
Shmup? Gunbird 2, Ikaruga.
Platforming? Sonic.
Adventure? Shenmue, Ecco.
Survival Horror? Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Illbleed(such a weird game).

Something for everyone.

Bittersweet 00's revival Sega <3

The Dreamcast has so many awesome games and plus it has the ability to emulate other systems. I put the DC above the Saturn(Saturn has tough security to play back ups) and then the Genesis comes third.

I never rated either the Saturn or the Dreamcast very highly, although, for a few brief moments I have been contemplating whether or not I have misjudged the latter. I certain had some great times with Resident Evil: CV and Sonic Adventure, for all it's faults, was enjoyable the first time round. I was thinking about re-connecting my N64 for some 007 awesomeness, but might consider seeing what the fuss was with Shenmue.
