I have a 27in wega but its in storage right now (great for light gun games and for old school games) so I've been using my 57inch hitachi crt which is fine imo. My lcd however is only used for tv/dvd and modern games (its a 32in bravia)

Wait, you have a 57 INCH CRT TV?
Thats bigger than my Plasma TV, how did you get such a monster?
its probably 57inch wide... which is not that big, 57" 4:3, well, that is big
It's probably a rear-projection television, especially since it's a Hitachi.
The largest CRT television ever made was the 40" Sony Wega XRB television, weighing in a 304 pounds. I have a 32" version of this television and it weighs 165 pounds.

my friend in UK bought some other 40" CRT TV... not Sony...
Flat tubed Sony Trinitrons for the win, the one I have was Sony's last 4:3 aspect TV :)
Lovely big screen, two RGB scart, one s-video, one composite...
Weighs about the same as an American car though, takes an army to lift the damn thing!
my friend's TV was something old, and it was not even half-flat.
Any old 80s/90s 27" (70 cm) 4:3 CRT with RGB-Scart is the best TV for 16-bit gaming.
That's not true.
I have (2) Sony Wega KV-32HS420 televisions (2005-2006) that support 1080i/720p/480p/480i. It is a 4:3 aspect television that goes into 16:9 mode with 1080i and 720p media. You'd think that a 32" television would weigh maybe 100 pounds, but this bad boy is closer to 165.
I paid about $900 for the first one and I got the second one for $500, when Fry's was clearing them out. I love the television, because it works pretty well for my older console stuff.
I've always played games on my 20" Flat CRT. I grew up using smaller tv's, and it seeps the pictures look less pixel'd that way. I've never been comfortable moving to a larger or smaller tv. So 99% of my gaming, especially 16 bit is on that tv. 360 and dreamcast aside (those are on vga)
