Live in your own little world, man. Nobody says "awesome" has to make sense, and that comic is completely nonsensical, thus the "WTF".
I'm gonna make a ruling here. WTF.......is a acronym we use to symbolize a confusing and mind boggling situation, image, action,etc. Now WTF is useable in Joe's way. Why? because imagine a situation, such as a oiled up midget riding a donkey and the donkey is running full blast and the midget is screaming at the top of his lungs and he rides by you, your reaction should go as the following, "What the fuck?" *chuckles slightly*. Rusty is obviously living in the 90's because he has dared to utter "gnarly" and "righteous".
