A lot of Laser Discs show up at thrift stores near me. Does anyone know what type of thrift stores would typically have things as awesome as Laserdisc machines. I typically go to a goodwill 10 mins away from my house. I live about half hour away from a Salvation army, A Ma & Pa flea market that sell Records, A dirty and really nasty ware house that sells old stuff, and another goodwill.

Note : A few weeks ago I went to the Warehouse that sells old crap, and they had Herb Alberts Tijuana Brass : Whipped Creme and Other Delights, I got so excited when I found it, I took it out of the sleeve and It had a tomato like sauce baked onto it. I was so frikkin mad.

I remember hearing that on the radio when I was a kid. Your old man must have some influence on your taste in music. The only music my old man listened to, that I could really appreciate, was Elvis, Kenny Rogers and the 50's Rock N' Roll. Most of the time he listened to country music that I just couldn't get into.

Laserdisc is awesomeness. I saw an old Pioneer LD player in VV one day. It was like $9.99, I passed it up but the next day I figured I should go back and get it... but it was gone.

They also had an RCA "Discovision" thing that was some other standard from way before LD! I think it was from the late 70s!!! It had wood paneling on it and everything! Crazy that they had movies on a disc back then. Must have cost a million bucks!

My dad wouldn't know a Herb Alpert song If the Dj over the radio told him it was. My dad doesn't listen to jazz, mostly classic rock. He'll listen to most any classic rock band that's well regarded, I like classic rock, I've just heard the most memorable classic rock songs dozens of times and thats why I search on the internet for more obscure, out of the way bands and musicians, hence Herb Alpert.Also, I know more Batles song thanks to the INTARWEBS, more than Can't buy me love and Elenor Rigby. I got into herb alpert because a podcast I listen to has Herb's music in the background to coinside with the discussion. Do a google search for "Knoxkast" It is no longer on itunes, sadly, but fans have posted it everywhere, I'll have a link later, maybe tommorrow or the next day.

My friend rented one and we had watched Cheech and Chong: Up in Smoke and TRON. The player was okay, but there were occasions where it would start skipping and freeze up. We'd have to eject the disc and start the movie over.

It wasn't a bad format, but I could see why it was a failure.

Oh, cool CED. I heard that the highest amount of times a Disc of CED could be played back is about 500. So its no surprise I've never seen one. I heard they were quite reliable, while they lasted.

Disco vision with wood paneling? Thats awesome. Ive been getting laserdisks off ebay but man they want an arm and a leg. I wish there was someplace local that sold them. I just got the street fighter w Sony Chiba, strange brew, switchblade sisters, and a Comedy of Terrors all on laserdisk.

I have been considering selling all of my LaserDiscs and the player but I keep having second thoughts. I never, ever watch the things, but the offers I have gotten weren't that great especially considering the condition they are in.

You've never punched anyone because you're 14, wait until you have to stand in line for 6 hours at the DMV because the DMV decided the scratch in the paint on your right fender warranted a salvage title on your car that is only TWO FUCKING YEARS OLD GOD DAMN GOVERNMENT I COULD PUNCH SOMEONE RIGHT NOW!
