Oh cool. I didn't know VC games ran in 240p mode for SDTV. Wasn't the GBA adapter for GC unable to run in 240p mode? I have it and don't remember :daze:Quote:

I believe the GBA adapter for the GC ran in 480p but I also am not certain. I had it hooked up to an SDTV for awhile and I sure don't remember it running in 240p.
From what I hear it looks more 8-bittish on the Wii, the 360 and PS3 versions look "smoother" and less blocky.
I guess we can wait for some official screen caps from each system.
So I bought this. And holy shit, it is beating me. I was at least decent at the original NES Mega Man titles, but on MM9 I can't even get to a boss. They REALLY cranked up the difficulty... it all seems very much based on memorization this time around whereas you could at least fight your way through first time on most of the old stages.
I still like it, though. It'll probably keep me occupied for a very long time, because I'm determined to beat it.

this is true, I managed to beat galaxy man (haven't played much, damn homework), but the rest I keep getting smoked, usually not even halfway through the level. I have a feeling in about a month this will be speed run ready, it really feels like one of those games.Quote:

hell no, fuck an XBOX, I do console repair at Play N Trade and guess what my repair tubs are full of right now: 4 XBOX 360s (3 with RROD, 1 needs a new drive) and a DS with cracked screens. Actually, I think there may even be a couple more RROD XBOX 360s I've forgotten about. They are a little better if you buy them post-RROD recall since they come from the factory with the heat-pipe equipped heat sink that actually does its job (like it should've been in the first place), but Microsoft really screws you over since it takes 2 or 3 hundred EXTRA dollars to get everything you need to play(hard drive, hi def cables, wireless internet adapter, extra controller(s), XBOX live subscription, etc.). Who cares about achievement points? can you convert them to cash or a cash equivalent? if not, whats the point? do you need a set checklist to pat you on the back for playing a video game? I play a game to either beat it or to screw around and do whatever I want (like in GTA), I could give 2 shits about acheivements. And, for the record, the Wii version has 50 acheivements, 50 of which I don't care about in the least. I'm not saying the Wii is great either, personally I haven't seen any CD/DVD based Wii game I'm interested in, at this point I would just as soon buy a driveless Wii that was good for WiiWare only as thats all I've seen that I might want to buy.Quote:

I have the pro 360 launch unit too. THE ONLY REASONS XBOXS BREAK IS THAT PEOPLE LEAVE THEM LAYING FLAT AND ON THE BOTTOM, WHEN LAYED HORIZONTAL, IS THE SIDE WITH THE MOTHER BOARD AND NO AIR CIRCULATES. When the system heats up, the X-clamp's lack of rigidity coupled with the eco-friendly solder and high temperatures from shitty heat dissipation causes the chip to desolder itself from the board leaving you with a 3 light RROD XBOX 360. The homebrew fix replaces the X-clamp with screws and washers and intentionally overheats the graphics chip to resolder the chip to the board and uses the heatsink as a clamp of sorts and in the process hopefully making it better at conducting heat away from the chip and holding it onto the board. The Microsoft fix involves completely replacing the heat sink with another one that incorporates a heat pipe heat exchanger that does a significantly better job of cooling the graphics chip. This is most of the reason out-of-warranty XBOX 360 RROD fixes are so expensive ($100-$140). I am very hesitant to point fingers and call things design flaws vs. user error, but in this case it is definitely an abysmal engineering choice and all original non-heat pipe XBOX 360s will sooner or later need repair.Quote:
