Plasma Sword
I apologize in advance for making 2 new threads one after the other but I gotta discuss about this game.
If you guys skimmed through my "Shenmue II Crash" topic you would have noticed that I have been on my Dreamcast a lot these days. So after I researched the problem that Shenmue II was giving me I popped in another game that had been idling in my collection for a while.
That title is "Plasma Sword"
Ok, Since the first time I saw this game in stores I wanted to buy it but never got the chance. It took me until it was $7.99 and Dreamcast was on its way out. When I finally got it I popped it in and at first was immediatly disappointed. It looked like a rendered version of a PS1 game. I mean the character sprites and backround were so dated that one would of winced at the ugliness of it all BUT then I played it for an hour and everything started falling into place. This game was great!
Game Mechanics
Fighting system
and even the furturistic backrounds started to grow on me even though they still looked like a desktop backround.
I would say definitley pick it up if you can find it. Fun to play after a stressful game and with friends.
SIDE NOTE: I was also playing RUSH 2049 and was wondering if there is a way to turn off the tire smoke while turning. Just wondering cause it makes the gameplay studder a little. If not no problem I will just play in first person view.

I thought Plasma Sword was pretty decent... Not amazing, but fun.
And IIRC, the arcade version was on PS1 hardware.

Yep, PS1 hardware. The mags at the time bashed it for looking so dated on Dreamcast hardware.

Damn I need to play some Rush, havent touched it in forever. Anyone else have the dreamcast racing wheel and peddles. I bought them and was kinda dissapointed. I wish it had a stick shift and force feedback on the turns would be great but I guess a lot of racing wheels an games didn't really support that. I just want a good racing wheel dammit all the ones I have owned sucked compared to arcade wheels. The only game I could use the wheel on was daytona for DC and Le Mans racing, all my other games are too hard to control with the wheel. Looney Tunes racing is a mess with the wheel.

Rush is definitley an amazing title for Dreamcast. Its truly a work of art. It has 3 games in one and all of the levels, cars, and gameplay are very polished.
My friend and I played battle and stunt mode for months it was great.

I thought about picking up Plasma Sword way back when, but eh, it just didn't seem that interesting. If I find it cheap, though, I'll probably pick it up, if only because I'm always happy to expand my Dreamcast collection.
