Thanks for sharing your comments about Legend of Wukong. I'm glad to see that you guys are enjoying the game, and getting a kick out of the humor. While the shadow cast by Beggar Prince sadly limited the press coverage this game received, sales have been healthy and overall customer opinion has been positive.
I've said it a zillion times but am happy to do so again: With Wukong, we really got a chance to "run free" and add all kinds of neat, new features and bits to improve the game and make it a better experience for everyone. While we didn't program the game 100% from the ground up, we dug deep into the existing code and did everything we could to "complete" the original effort put forth by Gamtec. I'll always look back on the project with a strong feeling of accomplishment.

^^ You'll pardon Pigsy, though... he gets a little too excited.
Deep down, Pigsy is a regular ladies man.
I never did order this after the new print run came out. I need to rectify that when I get a little cash.
I really like the character in the game, but honestly, that pic is tasteless to me.
In every adaptation of Journey West Pigsy is at least a little bit perverted. Some are just worse than others. I mean look at Dragonball that version of Pigsy is horrible. In the PlayStation game he is more mild and prefers food. I have yet to read the original novel, but I just bought it so we will see.
Legend of Wukong is now SOLD OUT... again. Join our mailing list if you are interested in purchasing a copy, as we may well put the game back into production in the future.
Thanks!
I'm surprised this game managed to sell only 600 copies. Beggar Prince sold 1500 and if you check what it's going for on ebay then you'll see there are still plenty of people who want that game. Hopefully Legend of Wukong doesn't reach those ridiculous prices.
And hopefully there's demand for another run as this game is one of my favourite games of all time.
i paid £77 for my beggar prince, 1st edition, on ebay a couple of month ago. Also bought wukong from SFT website. i prefer wukong to BP but seem in the minority on this one
My third print copy was $60 off an awesome Sega-16er. I do agree that Wukong is better.
I really only got into Beggar Prince today. It took me a really long time to find a way out of that first town, but I'm out, and the game seems to be picking up now.
Plus I defeated the first boss on my first try! It took me like 20 attempts to kill the first boss in Wukong.
The first boss in Wukong is just a way to get you in shape (level-up) for the rest of the game. After you beat the Bear, you'll beat all the other bosses on your first try and easily. I love Legend of Wukong, my kind of RPG indeed (ala Dragon Warrior).
