I actually love Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side. Lol.
I'd rather it be like the Edge said and make it look really good in 2D like 3rd Strike.

for a 3rd Eternal Champions game to be made 2D would be a step backwards. The series was just starting to get a taste of 3D from the CG used in EC2. I'd imagine had Eternal Champions 3 been produced for Saturn as originally planned it would probably been complete 3D rendered sprites like Killer Instinct.
Phantasy Star V
How long are we going to have to wait? PSO was alright, but it's time to find out what happened to the folks aboard the Alisa III.
like to see sequels to The Immortal, Landstalker, Beyond Oasis, Sonic the Hedgehog, Streets of Rage, Revenge of Shinobi and Chakan (better control and gameplay), and Granada and El Viento.
Monsterland 5 (wonderboy series)
A Jurassic Park game in the 2D style of the first one (hey i liked that one and the sequel)
Ecco 3 (but more like ecco 1, ecco 2 was.. i dunno something felt off)
a new Shining Force game, either remade versions of the Gamegear titles (but enhanced so with towns)
or a whole new story.
we need streets of rage 4 !!!!!!!
It will come and it will be like Golden Axe: Beast Rider and I won't buy it.
@NeoVamp: The GG titles were remade for SCD (Shining Force CD) and more recently: mobile phones. Ecco was continued on Dreamcast as Defender of the Future, which then got ported to PS2.
@stalepie: Shinobi got a sequel called Shin Shinobi Den on Saturn, and the one for Dreamcast ended up being a PS2 exclusive, Dark Saviour is some sort of a sequel to Landstalker as far as I know, and Beyond Oasis 2 aka Legend of Oasis was released for Saturn.
Yeah, but unfortunately Dark Saviour sucked balls. There was something far closer to an actual sequel called Lady Stalker (for realz--it's more Land Stalker but with a lady character than...well, what it sounds like) for Super Famicom only--I've got it, but the language barrier makes it unplayable. There was also Time Stalkers on the DC, but I never played it, heard it wasn't good.
Legend of Oasis is very good, kind of replaying that one intermittently.
I completed Legend of Oasis not too long ago myself, and it was a great game, and I actually liked it a little more than the original thanks to the enhanced gameplay and visuals.
I didn't think Dark Savior was too bad, it was way too experiemental though, but at least it was more enjoyable than Time Stalkers (which found the developers trying their hand at dungeon-crawling RPGs).
If you guys want a true sequel to Land Stalker, I would gladly recommend Alundra for the PS1, especially since Climax themselves developed that game actually. ;)

Time Stalkers sucks, but Dark Savior isn't that bad. It's not as much fun as Landstalker but I think the parallel system is pretty cool at least. It has some things that keep it from being a classic in my opinion but for a console as starved for RPGs as the Saturn was, you could do worse.
I always found the isometric viewpoint to be cool myself, it definitely adds something dfferent not found in other games in the same vein. I still like Alundra and old-school Zelda titles when I say this, but a little variety is definitely always nice.
If you're looking for a another great adventure game with an isometric view I'd recommend checking out Light Crusader, it's made by Treasure and the puzzles were quite addicting to solve.

you're right it was planned to be 2D, that's why EC1 was complete 2D and EC2 was mostly 2D except for the 3D intros, ending, and finish move endings. The game was progressing to 3D like every game was in the mid 90s so to think that it becoming 3D is out of the option is ludicrous.
Shadow Yamoto, was the only character to be remade as a 3D rendered sprite in X-Perts, had there been an EC3 I'd imagine SEGA would have 3D renedered all the characters.
if they completed the Third Chapter the planned sequel for the Saturn they could have called it Eternal Champions 3D. Now that's a kick ass title.

Read that article. The 3D videos were just FMV in there for the sake of it being Sega-CD. It was supposed to be called Eternal Champions: The Final Chapter. Not Eternal Champions 3D. There wasn't going to be any 3D in that game.
And how is the game not going into 3D ludicrous? Street Fighter was in 3D for 20+ years almost and they tried to go into 3D separately and it sucked ass!
