I know, I always thought Eternal Champions should have adapted that model. I call it the KI model of fight games. Sadly the whole style died with Killer Instinct Gold.

I would love to say that a Ristar sequel would be great, but I dunno if I trust Sonic Team with that. Maybe if they got DIMPS to do a Ristar game on the DS...
Well than rather than have Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side look like Killer Instinct (which I think looks awful BTW) why not make it more like Street Fighter IV?
What about Genesis own Ninja Gaiden?
The Master System had it why not the Genny?
This is why :)
Yeah I guess I'll stick with my Master System copy.
At least they tried!
I wonder why it never got released?
I would like a Ghouls and Ghosts 2. They did pretty good with the first one and i think they could add more power ups and more interesting enemies.
zero tolerance 2 would be cool
after playing SOR3, even though the music is shitty, I like it...
and i really feel there could be a sequel to the game period.
-better story... i mean something GOOD not crappy story something new.. keep the syndicate with a deep story and multiple endings depending on what happens in the stages. for variety maybe bring in some kind of a secret alien alliance with the syndicate
-bring back Adam from SOR1 with his awesome flying kick
-bring back a boat floating stage with juggling clowns
-keep it 2D
-bring back good music
keep the beat them up genre but twist it with puzzles, forked paths and more fast action
SOR3 is a bit slow. baddies should stop hidding outside the screen for so long.. also in SOR3 many scenes are pretty bland and pointless. you should be able to go through a scene when 2 or 3 baddies are left standing.
-battle in the street, yea but you could have special stages for drinking beers or playing pinball in bars,
-bring in civilians that may not die on the battlefield
-more collectibles, lots of them
-make collecting points a purpose.. like you can spend you point to buy stuff or something. who plays the highscore? hardly anybody. maybe enough score to skip stage 6 or 7
-bring in a car chase scene.
-bring back moving floors like in SOR1 stage 6.
I say make it like a late Neo Geo 2D fighter, or perhaps a Marvel Vs. Capcom 2D sprites over a 3D background. Its really not too bad how it is, just higher res, more colors, and slightly more refined/smooth controls (always found it a bit "notchy" compared to Street Fighter or the later Fatal Fury games).
how about Beats of Rage? its a total homebrew project, you can get the DC version in an awesome disc with like 10 other beat em ups based on the engine from dcisozone.com in the homebrew section (as far as I know its 100% legal, spare for the use of copyrighted sprites). And for god sakes, no, no stupid story, too much FMV bullshit is why I can't even play XBOX 360 or PS3 games, movies are movies, games are games, stop trying to put them together.

- @Mordan: Streets of Rage 3 sucks. Try Bare Knuckle 3: http://archive.rpgclassics.com/subsites/twit/
...No, I can't go with Phantasy Star 5, not unless the unicorn granting this wish were prepared to dish out a Genny cart of a size that would herniate a NeoGeo. Even on the CD it would have to be so many disks the sight of them all stacked would make children cry.
So I'm going with HellWing, a joint sequel to Hellfire and Zero Wing. Play as either ship, both slightly tweaked for aesthetics, with each retaining its original distinction (Hellfire beam or tractor beam), multiple paths, endings, a giant lot of levels, and of course Yeah Right difficulty selectable w/o a cheat and correctly spelt.
Alternatively, an ostensible sequel to World of Illusion that would actually function as a Disney MegaMix with Mickey and Donald progressing through various Disney film landscapes unlocking other characters such as Aladdin, Simba/Timon/Pumbaa, Mogli/Baloo/Shir Kahn, &c to replay and enhance earlier levels. Maybe sneak in EWJ as well through the Shiny connexion.
