Which is more sad:
The fact that I buy video game time by watching shows like Sex and the City with my wife?
. . . or the fact that I pay enough attention to said shows to talk about it afterward?
Or is "sad" really the word I'm looking for . . .

I'm surprised your wife hasn't attempted to get your marriage annulled by claiming you lied about your sexual orientation.
... and I thought I was the only one. I barter time on the computer, working on the car, gaming with watching her girly shows or movies, and taking her out for coffee!
Doesn't quite sound to me like you'd do it for your wife, but rather that you do it for some "me-time" with your videogames...
Ah, well, did the same thing, so who am I to complain. Only I managed to get my ex-fiancé to agree on something we both enjoyed. So it was "Scrubs" rather than "Sex and the city"...
Also, when th gf of one of my pals said that she was going to have a pyjama party with some of her girlfriends were they were going to watch "sex and the city" all night, me and my pal argued that if they did that, we would have a "watching porn, wearing underwear and drinking beer"-men only-night. Which, in retrospect, sounds like NOT the best of ideas; men only, in their underwear, watching porn together....
Anyways, neither plan was realized, so I guess I got off lucky...
Damn Germans and their kinky sex.
I only watched Sex and the City to look at Charlotte.
Wtf. Sex and the City. I tried watching one episode of that, with the wife. Neither one of us wanted to finish it. Euuggghh ...
But yeah, I do the same thing I guess. Except with shows that aren't quite so horrible. I get to do whatever I want when she's watching the really terrible stuff.
it s like i never left the marines
if she say jump i ask how high and far
my obsesion with video games she don t get it only thing she played was mario and she don t have to find out that i paid 150 euro s for snowbrothers
but to be honest i like it girl who shows watch she can do and she s a little kidsteacher sometimes i feel like calvin and hobbes
I bought a Volvo Wagon that wont stop breaking that drives me to drink so we can haul around our dogs. I also eat a lot of organic food that I never would have before.
I agree with you guys: Charlotte is VERY watchable (and was also in a very funny Seinfeld episode)
One thing I'll never understand about women is their obsession with killing spiders. Why does the spider have to die? And why do I have to have its blood on MY hands?
Do your own dirty work, Lady Macbeth!
There is NO reason to watch Sex and the City. The same also applies to Will and Grace.
Henry VIII changed the religion of England for a woman, now that's romance. :ok:
My gf watches reruns of "Sex and the City", and while Kristen Davis is easy on the eyes, the combined fugly of the rest cancel her out and make it impossible for straight men to watch.
Sarah Jessica Parker is beyond fugly.
What nationality is Sarah Jessica Parker? Klingon?
Shes too ugly to be a Klingon.
I think she's actually a kind of horse.
Luckily my GF isn't into any of these crappy girly shows and hopefully she never will be :D
Solution: don't let gf move in with me = play video games whenever I want.
When I get married I'll be happy to suffer to play video games. But my long term solution to that is to have kids. Then I can play video games whenever I want and claim I'm spending time with the kids.
^
----Brilliant...
@ottobot:
I thought it WAS a cheesy soap opera? Explain how its better than watching one if it is one?

Thats Actually the best Idea I've seen on here so far.
won't work! At least not for the first two years! Even the wife won't believe that you're playing with the kids when your child isn't old enough to even HOLD the controller.
Also, I thought I would be the "fun uncle" when I heard my sister was pregnant. Now my niece is four years old, and so far she isn't interested in videogames at all.
Video gaming runs in my family... my kids, when it gets that far, will have a ton of fun with MD :)
Crazy Kids! Don't they know video games are lots of fun?
I have nothing to add to this since I am cold and alone...
But I will defend Will and Grace. It's a generally well written show and I usually stop on it when channel surfing because I know i'll laugh at least once in every episode. So bite me.
I think Debra messing (sp?) is "smokin' hot"
But you're better off with Friends. You still get the gay, but with a fair amount of guy humor thrown in for good measure.
All that show does (Sex and the City) is teach girl how to be callous and promiscuous. Its disgusting. Our culture is going down the tubes. Women are affected the worse. They are bombarded with all kinds of nonsense that is made to make them feel insecure and push them into being someone who they arent.
I think I just made myself sad again...
I agree with half of what you just said. I would argue, however, that men are affected just as strongly.
Men are in general terribly insecure (constantly afraid of losing our manhood). On the other hand, we are also socially conditioned to bottle up our emotions; resulting in millions of time bombs walking around looking for someone to beat up or murder
Oh, and the fact that we find female promiscuity so appalling while giving not a second thought to our own is also a product of social conditioning
Yes, In post-Modern America Men have two emotions Frustration and Rage.
I think the reason for this is the inability to communicate. I know some guys who can't have a deep thought unless it revolves around a sports team.
I don't do anything for women. I make them do things for me!
And its not. Booya!
It is true! At least for me.Quote:
