But don't get too excited, because it says I'm just barely a commie, with a 0.50 to the left, and if it weren't for a few simple mistakes, I would have seeped into the anarchist category. I don't really feel like retaking this long quiz.

I'm right about the Dalai Lama area... I'd say that's about right.

I don't like this test. It has a lot of dumb questions. Like "It's a sad reflection on our society that something as basic as drinking water is now a bottled, branded consumer product." That's social commentary, not a political position. Same goes for "Good parents sometimes have to spank their children." -- what does that have to do with anything? And "Some people are naturally unlucky."? What does that even mean?

These tests in general are kind of lame anyway. I always get different results depending on the test. Some have shown me fairly close to the center, while others have labeled me an extremist.

But my score is:

Economic Left/Right: -4.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.00

Of course such questions have to do with it. Things like spanking children are typical examples of a right, conservative way of thinking, as is making money out of everything including water is a very capitalistic thing.

Your answers to such questions do indeed say something about your place in the political scale.

I never thought of the bottled water question as relating to capitalism, but I guess that makes sense. What does my belief or disbelief in astrology have to do with anything?

Last time I took it I was -0.5 on the Economic L/R scale and -4.21 on the Social Libertarian / Authoritarian scale.

Edit: It wasn't working earlier, but just started again. Looks like my opinions have changed a bit in a few months. I'm now at -2.0, -4.87. It's interesting what a few months of thinking can do.

Hitler believed in astrology, so therefor, if you do, you are a right-wing fascist. duh.

Where I`m from there is no talk of commies etc, most people in our country couldn`t tell you what left, right, conservative, communist, democrat etc actually meant, once in a blue moon will such words even be accociated with any of our parties. All most people over here know is which side they like the sound of (views, proposals etc). For us those words are foreign and up until I did that little test I couldn`t tell you which way I swayed as none of it is in our teachings or up bringings and so therefore have never taking an interest into the meanings of those words. Things are a bit different over here. Well that`s enough dribble anyway!

It just goes to show how pretentious we Americans are and how fond we are of dividing everything up into neat little categories.
