Sadly, I don't think the PSP has been receiving a lot of support lately. Most of the games are ports, and the truly innovative games are virtually ignored. The PSP has Mega Man Powered Up and Patapon. Those two games alone almost justify the system's price.
Doesn't the DS have a Gunstar Heroes game, too?
Edit: Actually, it's not sad at all. The only reason I have a PSP is because I got it for $60. The screen suffers from MAJOR motion-blur, the battery life is pretty awful, and its library of games is uninspired. I might get the Castlevania game that's out for it, but that will probably be the last game I buy for it.
-
Well the gameboy advance has a gunstar game for it if im not mistaken, which you can play on a ds, but the new ds they are going to put out will lose its ability to play gameboy advance games so. I like the DS but I kinda hate using the stylist on some games, mainly starfox and ninja gaiden come to mind but I remember not liking it on a couple others. But I am not against the stylist, I just hate controlling characters with it, prefer a good D-pad. I like the microphone feature in ds games, kinda gimmicky but thats nintendo for ya. I need to get contra 4

Was it the GBA that had Gunstar Heroes? That's probably what I was thinking of.
-
It had a kind of lame sequel to it.
-
I like my XBox - I'm really looking forward to the NXE, Gears 2, Sonic Unleashed and Mirror's Edge. That should keep me out of the sun for a good month or two :)
-
Gears of War 2, Resident Evil 5, and Bioshock 2 will be the next games I buy

Just got LEGO Batman earlier this week from GameFly, and it's pretty simplistic and boring. I know it's primarily marketed as a kid friendly game, but I don't care for how the real puzzle element of the game only truly becomes accessible at the end once all characters are acquired. For a game about collecting, I'm just glad it's not nearly as tedious as Assassin's Creed was, so it should be my first 1,000 achievement point game. :)

Here's why I despise Microsoft:
After dealing with (somewhat patiently) three different red rings of death, I finally have a solid Xbox 360. Or so I believe. Knock on wood. God knows I never want to go through that terrible experience again.
A new problem has occurred. I have an Xbox Live Gold account. Just like I'm sure most everyone else here has. And I choose to pay $50 yearly for that account. Well, my wallet was stolen, and I had to replace my credit card. Apparently Microsoft automatically renews any Gold account and runs you card for $50 unless you tell them not to. They tried my old card, which was declined, and put a hold on my account.
For about a month, I couldn't figure out why I wasn't able to get online. When I finally put the peices together, I called Microsoft to update my card number. Has anyone ever had to call their customer service? It's the biggest joke in the world. After being transfered and put on hold for nearly two hours (not an exaggeration) I decided to hang up, and just create a new Xbox Live account.
The problem with creating a new account while a previous one is suspended is that everything from the previous account becomes unaccessible. In other words, I can no longer play Bomberman Online, Geometry Wars, Uno, Street Fighter II, etc... Not to mention the serious drop in gamer score (look beneath this post for my pitiful reputation). I contacted their customer service about this AGAIN, this time explaining that the suspension should be taken off for two reasons:
1) There's absolutely no reason to suspend my account in the first place. I pay yearly, and as soon as they couldn't renew, they cut my online access off. So it's not like I owe them for some unpaid service.
2) I paid $50 AGAIN to start up a new account!!!! So even if they were justified in suspending my account, it still didn't matter because I gave them their money!
Nothing came of it. I was transferred from support to accounting about five times before I took my frustration out on some poor employee. I yelled into the phone: "I'VE BEEN BUYING VIDEO GAMES FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS AND I'VE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH ANY OTHER COMPANY BEFORE!!! WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU TO RESTRICT ME FROM PLAYING GAMES THAT I'VE ALREADY BOUGHT?!?? I'VE PUT UP WITH WAY TOO MUCH SHIT FROM YOU GUYS, I'LL NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH YOU AGAIN!!!" and then hung up.
So yeah... I'm looking forward to Call of Duty: World at War and Resident Evil 5 though :p

Jesus Christ. . . I have heard that MS is a pain in the ass to deal with. I pray to god I'll never have to find out first hand
Conversely, I found Nintendo to be quite easy. I was having trouble with my Wii, I called their tech support, he sent out a UPS tag and a few weeks later I got my system back in fine working condition.
I've heard horror stories about trying to get hardware support for the XBox
-
I think it's because they've had soooo many hardware problems. The first time my 360 went out, the support was seamless. They sent me a box within a couple of days, and a week and a half later I had my working 360 back. Now, you can either wait a while for a box, or they recommend you buy your own and ship it to them for faster service (which actually costs the customer money!). I've had to wait over a month to get my 360 back the last time. It was awful.
For all their faults, I've never even had to call Nintendo, Sony, or Sega. Like I said, I'm going to pass on the next Xbox.

For me, the games available for the XBox are more appealing than those for the PS3 (and the Wii, in some respects). I guess it will come down to whether or not playing those games is worth the potential headache. I feel like I've been lucky so far, though.
-
I'm kind of the opposite, the majority of my favorite 360 games are mult-console releases. The only real first party release I love is Gears of War. The reason I buy games like Call of Duty or Guitar Hero for the 360 is solely because of Achievements and GamerScore. I don't kill myself over the concept (as proven by my current 655 score), but I figure if the games are identical on both the PS3 and Xbox 360, might as well go for the 360.
-
Actually, let me rephrase: the exclusive games for the XBox are more more appealing to me (etc). I loved Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime, but let's face it - Nintendo is focusing more on the Wii-Fit and Wii-Music crowds. For multi-console releases, I will always go for the XBox version over the Wii, if not for the graphics, then for the achievement points.
The only exception I might make is for RE5, if it ever comes to Wii. In that case, I will probably have both.
-
It would be stupid to purchase an Xbox360 these days if you were going to buy a new system and had to choose between the current three. They say the problems have been fixed, but the horror stories of dealing with MS still abound and I really doubt the system is fixed like they say.
-
Yes, it certainly seems to be the least reliable of the three, but it seems that most people buy consoles for specific software.
