Are there any emus to run on genesis (cd) ? I know some people at sega once developed a nes emu which was never released. But are there any homebrew emus out there to run on a genesis ? What homebrew projects (not games i mean tech demos & tools) are worth a try ?
I'd love to see someone make a NES emulator the the Mega Drive, even if it is not 100% full speed. But honestly, I don't think there are any emulators.
There were plans on a NES emu about a year ago, but it never got anywhere.
Thats a shame, I thought Yugi Naka made one himself in 1990, wouldn't it be pretty easy now?
Who said Yuji Naka emulated everything, for all we know he could have only done the CPU and graphics, nothing else.
I remember hearing a story before the Megadrive coming out on of the creators was playing Super Mario Bros on it.
KEGA Fusion has a load Sega CD menu but I have never used it.

It's all irrelevant now anyways, as a modded (original) Xbox and PC's with S-Video/DVI out cover all your TV emulation needs.

Haha yeah, what TmEE said. Just because the output of the 2600 looks simple doesn't mean that is wasn't complex and convoluted ;)

You *might be able to do something similar with the Genesis and GB(C) games, but it would require more hacking (a lot more) as the GB/C has additional DMA and specialized opcodes that the z80 is missing.
Genesis could probably emulate the Odyssey2.
SMS would be a piece of cake, just ground one signal and get the SMS cart's ROM wired to correct signals :P
