The problem is, what you are saying is against fact.
For the love of Olivia Munn, why are we still arguing about this?! Didn't MrMatthews concede to Kogen a while back?
I wasn't talking about the bleam games at all. Tomb Raider, Soul Reaver, Nightmare Creatures, Resident Evil 2-3, and many others were originally created using PS1 Hardware. Later ported over to the Dreamcast. Thats why they look bad not because the Dreamcast wasn't a powerful system. Thats why people are getting upset, its a blatantly incorrect statement and Matthews should realize it.
Well you explain to him the difference between an opinion and a fact.
Actually, I think you're the one that needs some help with that.
Just because someone's preference is offensive to you, doesn't mean that person is trying to pass off his opinion as fact.
You're reading WAY too much into this discussion and getting WAY too defensive.
Oh, and for the record, Internal Primate is correct: I did admit a while back that I might have been too harsh on the DC's graphics. You chose not to see that, for some reason.
See now your following down the path of Mr.Matthews. You say something thats completely incorrect and then start having a fit:fit: when someone tells you the facts of the matter.
You used the example of Tony Hawk and Spiderman. Both Ports from the PS1, Developed using PS1 hardware. Your wrong. You can't use these games to critic the Dreamcasts graphic. Why? Because they are ports from a previous generation of video gaming.
If I were both of you I would just say "Oh, Ok, I didn't know that. Thanks"
There is no punishment for being incorrect.
I think he was being sacastic when he made the list. Or passive aggressive. Either way it is Matthews we are talking about.
Why are you lumping those consoles together? The PS2 and the Dreamcast were virtually the same in power, the Dreamcast's graphics workload was spread between the main processor and the Power VR chip whereas the PS2 had one more powerful cpu that had to do everything, this made them relatively comparable.
The Xbox and Gamecube completely blow both the PS2 and Dreamcast away on power.
The reason why there ended up being better looking PS2 games is due to the fact that programming experience with the console grew to a very high level over a period of years, years which the Dreamcast didn't have to see it's full potential.
2nd year PS2 games look comparable to the last Dreamcast games in graphics.
*sigh*
I listed those two game, Edge, because they are the perfect example in seeing the slight difference in PS1 and DC visuals, but the significant boost in resolution. But since you don't understand the logic going into an argument, I guess I'm going to have to list DC exclusive games that look like higher-res PS1 games (even though said PS1 games don't exist). See how you try to make people jump through hoops? Luckily, I've always been a fan of jumping through hoops!
Cannon Spike
Carrier
Charge 'N Blast
Dynamite Cop
Incoming
Kao the Kangaroo
Magforce Racing
Ooga Booga
Outrigger
Seaman
Toy Commader
Unreal Tournament
Urban Chaos
Zombie Revenge
Again, this should just indicate the the level of graphical quality all depends on the individual game. Calling others "retarded" and "dumb" for stating their opinion is just plain mean.
Yes, the DC is, in fact, the more powerful system. But a person is allowed to have an opinion that the games can still look like crap. Just going around saying "IT'S A FACT!!!" doesn't help you're argument one bit.
Oblivious to reality?Quote:
Either way it is Matthews we are talking about.
^ Yea, I was going to get to this statement. You beat me to it.
There is only so many incorrect InternalPrimate statements we can correct at a given time.
Good job again Jesus.Arnold
Completely accurate and well thought out response
I hate to say it, but I disagree with the argument that late DC games looked better than early PS2 games. No FPS on DC looked better than Timesplitters, and no sports game looked better than Madden 2001. And those were both launch titles. I've always seen that argument as a way for DC fans to justify holding off on a PS2 purchase.
Dude I'm starting to think that you have absolutely no recollection of what PS1 games actually look like, there are no PS1 games that look anywhere near the quality of Ooga Booga, to say Ooga Booga looks like a PS1 game is completely ludicrous, and Unreal Tournament?! seeing as Dreamcast Unreal Tournament is running at a much higher resolution than PS2 Unreal Tournament I don't see how you can say it looks like a PS1 game!
Despite the fact that this argument has continued far longer than necessary, I have to call you on this.
Why are you exaggerating my original post just so you can throw it back in my face?
I never even IMPLIED that the PS1 was more powerful than the Dreamcast. Your suggestion that I did is not only a bold-faced lie, but it is pathetic and juvenile, as well.
