I <3 The NGPC. It probably has the best ratio of good to bad games of any system, seriously pretty much every game is good. Most of the great games have already been mentioned, but I will add that Gals Fighters is surprisingly fantastic, probably my favorite fighter behind MotM, and Rockman Battle & Fighters is pretty damn fun, although it is in Japanese and I still don't know what some of the menus are.
this webpage http://www.neo-geo.com/pocket/ says that Gals Fighters is B&W compatible, A Black Falcons's list says that it is incompatible. Can somebody confirm whether it is compatible or not?

I can tell you that the version I know of is certainly not B&W compatible.
So I tested this. In a B&W system, when you turn on Battle de Paradise you play a version of the very old, and not really that good based on my first impression, arcade game "Yosaku". That's all you can do, it's just a little (sketchily fun) bonus.Quote:

I remember after the neo geo pocket color was pulled off the market the systems and games were sold in plastic blister packs and didn't include the original cases. amazon, gamestop and ebay were flooded with those sets for a few years. I bought one of those sets in 2007 and it had a silver system and 12 games in a plastic generic blister pack.
I'm sure it was an effort to cut down on distribution costs and recoup as much capital as possible. SNK wasn't doing so hot during that time.Quote:

Yeah, SNK had already made those cartridges when Aruze shut down US NGPC sales in May 2000, but they hadn't made the packaging yet. Some of those carts were apparently sent to Asia, but many were later seen in 2003, when those blister-packs were released. Most of the blister-pack games are American carts, but some are European, I think (you can tell the difference, European ones don't have ESRB ratings on them).
Anyway, 12 games, really? I think the blister packs were standard at a system (that bluish one, almost always) and 6 games in the packs, though they also sold several different booster sets with 4-6 games in each one.
thanks for the input about the carts, it's all very confusing since i've heard so many different stories about the reason for no packaging. some people say that the packaging was stripped once the leftover stock was sent back to snk. I do remember seeing several us games with a box included during 2000 when stores still carried them for a short time.
mine came with 12 games but since the blister pack it came in is long gone I don't remember exactly how many games were packed with the system. it was most likely the system with 6 games and a booster set of 6 that you mentioned, i just remember the generic packaging and some games were us, some jp, and some european carts.
