HALO HALO and HALO
2001 is where it all started...
I knew of Halo being out and how it was hyped and everything. Me not being a xbox owner I had no interest besides I had a PS2 and Dreamcast that cured my gaming needs. Anyway time goes on HALO 2 is out, Big Deal I had Killzone and RE4 for GC. Then I get a 360 and HALO 3 is ready to be released ..we all know how hyped up the game was. I borrow it from a friend and HALO 3 was the first Halo I ever played. And after being used to GOW. HALO 3 I was not a fan at all. So I never touch it again.
So now my interest has been sparked again. especially with Killzone 2 coming. I was at Gamestop and got HALO and HALO 2 for cheap
I am now going through the campaign just see what the story if any is all about. I am about half way through part 1 and I got to say I am glad I didnt buy this game new
The game does nothing for me, I like when the music starts playing as you are kicking some ass. But still I dont know what people really saw in it. Especially with everything else released at the time
How did it become as huge as it is. Just because of the multiplayer aspect..am I the only that does not think HALO is all that..
I will post again as I make my way through the games.

I'll admit that the Halo series was one of the deciding factors in whether I got a PS3 or a 360.
All I can say is that I'm glad the XBox has other games. I found Halo to be SO BORING (and graphically unimpressive)that I couldn't even make it through the first game.
How this game was compared to Metroid Prime is beyond me. Halo is one of the most overrated franchises out right now.
Foxhound, if you make it through those two games already feeling the way you do, I tip my hat to you.

They were ok in the day but the origianl I can't play now. The second one isn't quite as bad. I like it on co-op on legendary anyway. If you try that, that'll keep you busy.
But im the same as about 95% of everyone else with halo 3. about 2 years of mega hype to get a game which was like spot the difference with the second one.
I can think of quite a few FPS games that deserve more attention than this anyway.

I played Halo soon after it came out on PC. Overrated.

still like part 1
the rest sorry it didn t do it for me

I thought the first game was pretty good, that the second one was awful (I have good memories of the multiplayer though), and that the third one was fantastic.
Yes, I love Halo 3, wut you wanna fidaboud it?

I loved the story of the first Halo up until the flood part which seemed unnecessary. It was one of the first Fps games that I played with out side levels. The multiplayer was good enough that I played with my buddies every Sunday night for more then a year and often with 16 kids. I did not enjoy the second one. The duel yielding over complicated things , the levels were messy, I hated playing as the bad guy, and the story was further ruined. I have only played 3 a few times seeing as I don't have a 360.

from the first time I played it, it just felt like a very poorly done ripoff of Perfect Dark for N64. Perfect Dark was so well polished and did things the N64 should've never been able to pull off, Halo just felt slapped together by comparison. I can't get into any first person shooter anymore, Perfect Dark and Goldeneye simply cannot be topped. Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are one of those few games like Mario 3, Mega Man 2, Streets of Rage 2, Sonic 2, and a few others where once you start playing it, you just keep going "one more level, then I'll do some homework" and then before you know it its 1 in the morning and you haven't done shit.

Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are the pinnacle of FPS gaming? Wut?
Half Life 2...

Just got to part where I need to stop the Monitor robot. All I can say it....well nothing much but I feel like its never ending. Like the maps they keep using the same layouts again again. I know I am in the building but does every freaking room need to be the same. the funniest thing I have done and enjoyed was unloading a full assault rifle clip into a guy and them Melee him to the ground. Also Health is non existant as least Shield regenerates.
Oh and I guess I can see where EPIC got its idea for the Sires in GOW2

So I finished 1 and 2 .. Wow Boring game. Im sorry, What the hell Bungie? I like playing the point of view of both Covenant and Spartans. But Halo 3 If i can get one for less then 10 bucks I will put forth effort to play it. Now to play something good ..Eternal Sonata..:)

Woa, other people that think Halo is at least a tad overrated? Awesome! My brother had the first Halo, I liked the first one enough, and eventually got an Xbox (subconsciously I'm sure Halo had something to do with it). I convinced my mom to buy Halo 2 for me on launch day and I liked it, up until the point where I legitimately thought I was playing the first one again. Sure, you could dual-wield, but after that wore off it felt too much like the first one. I think I eventually sold my copy of Halo 2, the guide, and a copy of Warsong to someone on these boards for 10 bucks or something ridiculous like that.
I just think that the whole series is kinda bland, I only played 30 minutes of Halo 3 before I was convinced I was playing Halo 2 again. To each his own I guess since I know we are all in the overwhelming minority on this one.
